Track an India Post shipment on this page
Enter the India Post Article Number or Consignment ID supplied on the booking receipt, shipment label, merchant confirmation, sender message, or official postal notification.
The official India Post Track and Trace surface separates three lookup objects:
| Official India Post lookup | Official input label | This 11Tracking carrier form |
|---|---|---|
| Consignment ID | Article Number | Supported shipment lookup, subject to the current provider mapping |
| Money Order | Reference Number | Not promised on this page |
| Complaint ID | Consignment Number | Not promised on this page |
This page does not provide dedicated lookup modes for:
- a Money Order reference;
- an India Post complaint ID;
- a merchant order number;
- a phone number;
- a recipient or sender name;
- a street address;
- a PIN code by itself;
- a passport application number;
- a payment reference;
- a customs document number.
A seller, government office, marketplace, or passport service can issue its own order or dispatch reference before providing the actual India Post article number. If no record appears, compare the exact characters with the booking receipt or sender confirmation and make sure the identifier belongs to India Post.
Do not publish a complete article number, delivery address, phone number, OTP, complaint document, customs form, signature, or identity record. A tracking identifier can expose shipment and delivery information.
Which India Post service are you tracking?
The brand name alone does not identify the product.
| Product or service | What it is | Tracking and evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Speed Post Document | Accountable domestic document service | Tracking, SMS, proof, insurance, registration, COD, or other features can exist, but availability or purchase must be verified for the exact article |
| Speed Post Parcel | Accountable domestic parcel service | May use air or a faster surface route; a surface route is not automatically an exception |
| India Post Parcel | Accountable retail parcel product ordinarily positioned for surface transmission | Its route, speed, value-added services, and evidence should not be assumed to match Speed Post Parcel |
| Registration under the current model | Value-added service for Speed Post documents and parcels for addressee-specific delivery | It is not a universal feature of every Speed Post item and should not erase legacy Registered Post terminology |
| 24 Speed Post | Special eligible D+1 product with limited metro/PIN, weight, OTP, and refund conditions | Its next-day commitment does not define ordinary Speed Post |
| Gyan Post | Trackable address-specific surface product for eligible printed educational material | Registration, POD, and insurance are optional; this niche product does not define all India Post items |
| International Speed Post / EMS | India Post’s express international postal service within the UPU EMS network | More than one postal operator and customs authority can control different stages |
| International Tracked Packet Service | Separate tracked international packet product | Do not flatten it into EMS or assume identical limits and proof |
| International Air Parcel | Separate international parcel product | Product, destination, customs, tracking depth, and compensation rules can differ from EMS |
| Ordinary or unaccountable mail | Postal items without equivalent accountable-item tracking and evidence | Not every India Post item or barcode is customer-trackable |
The result may not identify every service layer clearly. A number format can provide a clue, but it is not a substitute for the booking receipt, official product name, or exact carrier record.
What changed for Registered Post in October 2025?
India Post changed the inland Speed Post model from 1 October 2025. Current government material describes registration—historically searched as Registered Post—as a value-added option for Speed Post documents and parcels when addressee-specific delivery is required.
This requires a careful two-part explanation:
current booking model
=
Speed Post document or parcel
+
registration when addressee-specific delivery is selected
Older receipts, legal documents, archived tracking records, sender messages, and web pages can still use Registered Post. Do not conclude that an older article number is fake merely because the current product architecture changed.
The current model also distinguishes address-specific delivery from addressee-specific delivery. Ordinary Speed Post is not automatically proof that only the person named on the label could receive the item.
OTP is also a scoped delivery option. It does not apply to every Speed Post shipment. The separate 24 Speed Post product uses OTP within its own eligible service model; that does not make OTP or D+1 delivery universal across Speed Post.
What an India Post tracking result confirms
The strongest exact event controls the safe conclusion.
| Strongest visible evidence | What it supports | What it does not establish by itself |
|---|---|---|
| Identifier exists | A code was issued or supplied | India Post possession, public tracking, or current movement |
| Record recognized | A public shipment record is available | Physical acceptance or location |
| Item Booked or booking receipt | India Post recorded the booking event shown | Departure from the booking office |
| Item-level receipt at an office or facility | The named office recorded receipt of the item | Continuous location or immediate onward dispatch |
| Item Bagged or another receptacle event | A bag/receptacle or processing stage was recorded, subject to the exact wording | Individual item loading onto a named vehicle, train, or aircraft |
| Bag Despatched | A mail-receptacle dispatch stage was recorded | Item-level arrival at the next office or customs clearance |
| Item Dispatched from a named office | A dispatch event for the item was recorded | Arrival at the next office |
| Received at Delivery Office | The delivery office recorded receipt of the item | Out-for-delivery status or pickup readiness |
| Out for Delivery | The item entered the local delivery stage | Guaranteed delivery that day or live route location |
| Attempt, addressee absent, notice, or intimation | A non-completed delivery branch was recorded | That the addressee was necessarily at fault or that every physical step occurred exactly as imagined |
| Official held/arrival notice | Post-office collection may be available under the exact instruction | That a failed attempt or redirection request alone means the item is ready |
| Delivered | India Post recorded a completed delivery outcome | Personal receipt by the named addressee, correct contents, signatory authority, or absence of later loss |
| Signature, POD, or OTP where applicable | Additional carrier evidence connected to the booked product or delivery method | Independent proof of every disputed physical or legal fact |
| Complaint or inquiry ID | An official case exists | Loss, fault, claim approval, or compensation eligibility |
A missing event leaves uncertainty in both directions.
The same rule applies to a scan gap:
India Post tracking is event-based, not continuous GPS
The current postal regulations describe stage-wise electronic movement information for accountable items. That is an event record, not a complete physical history.
A shipment can pass through several time layers:
physical event
→ India Post recording or scan
→ postal-system transmission and synchronisation
→ provider ingestion
→ 11Tracking display
Therefore:
Two official trackers can also publish different amounts of information or show an event at different times. This is especially relevant for international mail, where India Post and the destination operator can receive and expose different data.
Do not apply one universal rule such as “every article must update within 24, 48, or 72 hours.” The product, route, office, transport leg, customs stage, destination operator, holiday calendar, service interruption, and publication delay can all change the visible sequence.
Use How Package Tracking Actually Works for the cross-carrier model of recorded events, timestamps, missing scans, and synchronisation.
How to read common India Post event families safely
India Post does not currently publish one complete public consumer glossary for every event phrase visible in tracking. The safest method is to preserve the exact wording and classify the evidence without inventing a physical story.
Consignment details not found
No result can have several explanations:
- a copied character is wrong;
- the code is a merchant, passport, payment, complaint, or Money Order reference rather than a shipment article number;
- the shipment record is not yet public;
- the item is not customer-trackable;
- the code belongs to another carrier or postal operator;
- a destination or partner record has not activated;
- the tracking provider has not returned the record.
No result does not establish that the sender lied, that the item is lost, or that India Post has the item.
Check Tracking Number Not Found for the full identifier-verification decision.
Item Booked
Item Booked is a meaningful India Post booking event. It supports that the item was recorded at booking under the event shown.
It does not, by itself, confirm:
- departure from the booking office;
- arrival at a sorting office;
- loading into a bag;
- line-haul movement;
- customs presentation;
- an estimated delivery guarantee.
A later item-level receipt, processing, or dispatch event provides stronger evidence of downstream movement.
Item Received
An item-level receipt at a named office is stronger evidence that the office recorded the item.
It does not provide continuous location or guarantee immediate dispatch. Check the office name, event time, later dispatch, and product.
Item Bagged and Bag Despatched
Postal networks move items inside bags or other mail receptacles. A bag event can represent real operational progress, but the evidence must remain at the level stated by the record.
Do not use an unofficial prefix or status table to convert a bag event into a precise physical route unless a current official source defines that exact event.
Item Dispatched
An item-level dispatch event supports that India Post recorded dispatch from the named office.
It does not establish arrival at the next office, customs release, or a guaranteed next event.
Received at Delivery Office
This is stronger evidence that the delivery office recorded the item.
It does not automatically mean:
- the item is already on the delivery route;
- the item can be collected immediately;
- the address is correct;
- delivery will be completed that day.
Wait for the exact Out for Delivery, attempt, notice, pickup-readiness, or delivery outcome.
Out for Delivery
Out for Delivery means the item entered the local delivery stage recorded by India Post.
It does not guarantee:
- delivery that day;
- a particular time;
- a live driver location;
- successful access;
- satisfaction of signature, OTP, identification, COD, or other delivery conditions.
Use Out for Delivery for the status meaning and Out for Delivery but Not Delivered when the expected outcome does not appear.
Attempt, notice, addressee absent, refused, or unclaimed
The exact reason controls the next branch.
A recorded attempt or notice does not automatically prove:
- that the named addressee personally had to receive the item;
- that the recipient was at fault;
- that a paper notice was left in every case;
- that pickup is already available;
- that India Post will make an unlimited number of attempts.
Use Delivery Attempted for the general attempt-versus-notice evidence boundary.
Delivered
Delivered is a completed outcome in the India Post record.
Depending on the product and delivery method, an accountable item may be delivered at the address or to the addressee or an authorised person. Therefore:
If the item cannot be found, preserve the tracking history, check the delivery address and authorised recipients, obtain eligible proof through India Post, and contact the delivery office or complaint route. Use Delivered but Not Received for the full recovery workflow.
RMS, TMO, NSH, OOE/OEE, EDI, and other abbreviations
These abbreviations are real user-search terms, but the reviewed official sources do not provide one current, complete consumer dictionary for every variant.
This page does not publish a definitive universal decoder for:
- RMS;
- TMO;
- NSH;
- OTB;
- OOE or OEE No EDI;
- every Item Onhold reason;
- every IT 2.0 event label.
Read the full event, office, country, preceding and later events. Use the official India Post or customs route when the code creates an action dependency. An unresolved abbreviation is better left explicit than translated into an unsupported physical claim.
Speed Post Document, Speed Post Parcel, and India Post Parcel are not identical
Speed Post Document
Speed Post Document is an accountable document service. Current official material describes tracking, selected SMS, proof, insurance, registration, COD, and other capabilities.
A capability listed for the product does not prove that it was purchased or applies to a particular article.
Speed Post Parcel
Speed Post Parcel is an accountable parcel service. Current regulations allow air transmission or surface transmission when the surface route is faster. When sent by surface, it is prioritised over India Post Parcel.
Therefore:
India Post Parcel
India Post Parcel is an accountable retail parcel product ordinarily positioned for surface transmission. Addressee-specific delivery, COD, insurance, or POD can exist as product or value-added options.
Do not treat India Post Parcel as a renamed Speed Post Parcel. Their transport positioning and service conditions differ.
24 Speed Post
24 Speed Post is a special eligible D+1 product with limited metro/PIN, weight, OTP, seven-day operation, and refund conditions published by India Post.
Its commitment must remain inside that product:
Check current eligibility and official terms before relying on the service promise.
Gyan Post
Gyan Post is a trackable, address-specific, surface product for eligible printed educational material. Registration, POD, and insurance can be added.
It is a useful example of product-specific tracking. It does not prove that every India Post surface item has the same tracking or proof.
India Post international tracking and EMS
International postal tracking is a chain, not one company controlling every stage.
sender
→ India Post booking office
→ outward processing or office of exchange
→ transport and dispatch network
→ origin customs where applicable
→ destination customs
→ destination postal operator
→ local delivery office
→ addressee or authorised recipient
Not every shipment shows a separate public event for every actor.
International Speed Post is India Post’s EMS product
EMS is an inter-operator postal express service within the Universal Postal Union system. It is not one private global carrier with one identical tracker and one universal rule set.
India Post can own the origin-side booking and inquiry. The destination operator can own import processing, local tracking, delivery attempts, pickup, and final proof after the handoff.
International Tracked Packet Service and International Air Parcel
These are separate India Post product families. Do not use EMS as a generic label for every tracked international packet or parcel.
Product distinctions can affect:
- admissible contents;
- weight and size;
- destination availability;
- event depth;
- delivery evidence;
- complaint period;
- compensation rules.
Dispatch from India does not prove destination receipt
An outward-office, dispatch, transport, or departure event does not establish:
- destination-post acceptance;
- customs clearance;
- arrival at the destination office of exchange;
- local delivery readiness.
A later destination-post possession or facility event is stronger evidence that the destination operator recorded the item.
Use Handed to Local Carrier and How International Package Tracking Works for the cross-carrier handoff model.
The same number may continue—or visibility may change
A destination postal operator may continue using the same international identifier. It may also expose fewer events, publish later, or use another operational reference that is not public.
A missing destination event does not prove the item has not moved. It also does not prove that the destination operator has received it.
Check the destination operator independently when the route and product indicate a handoff.
International availability changes
India Post can suspend or resume postal services by destination. Do not rely on an old country table.
Before sending or escalating an international item, check:
- India Post’s current international service notice;
- the exact product;
- the destination postal operator;
- current customs and admissibility requirements.
What a 13-character UPU S10 number does—and does not—tell you
Many international postal identifiers use a pattern such as:
two letters + nine digits + two letters
That is associated with the UPU S10 standard for identifying postal items.
The format can support item identity across postal systems. It does not, by itself, prove:
- India Post’s current physical possession;
- the exact commercial product;
- complete customer-facing tracking;
- a scan at every stage;
- delivery confirmation;
- customs clearance;
- a public destination tracking number.
The final letters identify the issuing/origin operator context of the identifier. They are not a live possession code.
Avoid universal prefix tables. Prefixes can be useful technical clues, but the booking receipt and official product record are stronger evidence.
Customs: India Post records do not replace customs authority
India Post can transport and present postal items, transmit declaration data, display customs-related events, collect duty in applicable postal workflows, and continue delivery after release.
Customs authorities control inspection, classification, valuation, admissibility, document requirements, duty assessment, detention, seizure, and release decisions under applicable law.
| Visible event or document | Safe conclusion | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| CN22 or CN23 prepared | Customs declaration data or a form was prepared | Accuracy, acceptance, valuation, or clearance |
| Presented to or received by customs | A customs-stage event was recorded | A problem, seizure, or duty amount |
| Held for documents or information | The customs/postal workflow recorded a dependency | Exact missing document, fault, or final outcome |
| Duty or payment due through an official route | A charge or dependency was recorded | Authenticity of an unsolicited message or link |
| Released or clearance complete | The customs-release milestone shown was recorded | India Post or destination-post possession, onward dispatch, or immediate delivery |
| Returned, detained, or seized | The exact official outcome shown | Universal refund, appeal, or compensation rights |
A customs hold does not automatically mean the item is lost or seized. A customs release does not automatically mean the delivery carrier has received or dispatched it.
Use Customs Processing, Package Stuck in Customs, or Customs Cleared but No Update according to the exact stage.
OOE/OEE No EDI
Users search this phrase, but the reviewed official India Post sources do not provide one sufficiently clear universal consumer definition.
Do not use an aggregator’s explanation as carrier policy. Preserve the exact phrase, route the user by the surrounding international and customs events, and use the official India Post or customs channel when an action is required.
Delivery attempts, post-office collection, and pickup readiness
The current Post Office Regulations establish a baseline for accountable items:
- the item is issued for delivery;
- a second delivery issue follows if the first does not complete;
- after two unsuccessful attempts, it is not issued again under that baseline;
- an arrival notice supports collection from the post office.
This is a regulatory baseline, not a promise about the exact local time, method, notice format, or handling of every special product.
Keep the states separate:
unsuccessful attempt
→ arrival notice or intimation
→ item held at the post office
→ confirmed collection instructions
→ customer collection
A failed attempt does not automatically mean the item is ready. An arrival notice should identify the office and current collection requirements.
The regulations also contain a general seven-day deposit period after unsuccessful enquiries, while administrative or product instructions can set the practical holding treatment. Use the exact notice and current official instructions rather than assuming one deadline for every item.
Delivered, signature, POD, OTP, and authorised receipt
These are different evidence layers.
Delivered
Delivered is the carrier-recorded outcome. It does not automatically establish who personally received the item.
Authorised receipt
Current delivery rules permit different outcomes depending on the product, including delivery at the address or to an authorised person. Identity-sensitive documents and addressee-specific services can have stricter conditions.
Signature or Proof of Delivery
A signature or POD can strengthen the carrier record. Availability depends on the product, value-added service, requester, authentication, retention, and current official tool.
It does not independently prove:
- that the named addressee personally signed;
- that the signatory was authorised outside the carrier record;
- correct contents;
- absence of damage;
- continued possession after delivery;
- theft or misconduct;
- legal liability.
OTP
OTP is a scoped delivery/authorisation mechanism. It is not universal across Speed Post.
Do not share an OTP with 11Tracking, USTracking, a forum, or an unsolicited caller or message.
Use Proof of Delivery, Photo, and Signature when the dispute turns on carrier evidence rather than the parent Delivered status.
Redirection, recall, and address changes are conditional requests
Current regulations provide scoped routes for alteration, recall, or redirection by eligible actors and at eligible stages.
A request can fail because:
- the item is already out for delivery;
- the item has been seized, confiscated, or otherwise legally restricted;
- the requester is not authorised;
- the destination or product does not support the action;
- a fee or document requirement is not satisfied;
- the operational change cannot be completed.
Keep three states separate:
The same applies to a pickup request through the India Post Customer Self Service Portal. A booking or pickup request is not evidence that the item was physically collected.
Use Change, Reroute, or Hold a Package for the general eligibility decision and India Post’s official route for the actual request.
Who should act on an India Post tracking problem?
| What you see or need | Best first route | Critical boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Merchant says shipped, but no usable India Post record appears | Sender or merchant | They can verify the article number and physical handoff |
| Record recognized, but no item-level receipt or downstream movement appears | Sender and booking office first | A record does not prove later India Post possession |
| India Post item-level events appear, then tracking stops | India Post tracking, contact, or complaint route | A scan gap does not prove loss or normal movement |
| Consignment details not found | Verify the identifier and carrier | No record is not a loss determination |
| Customs requests documents or information | Follow the exact official customs/India Post instruction | Customs authority may control the decision |
| Customs cleared, but no later event appears | India Post or destination post according to the route | Clearance does not prove carrier handoff or dispatch |
| Out for Delivery, but no completed outcome appears | Read the later event and use the delivery office/support route | Route entry is not a same-day guarantee |
| Attempt or arrival notice appears | Follow the exact notice and collection instruction | Attempt, notice, readiness, and collection are different states |
| Delivered, but the item is missing | Delivery office, proof, official complaint, sender/merchant as relevant | Delivered does not prove personal receipt |
| Damage or contents missing | Preserve item, packaging, receipt, photos, and immediate evidence | Short complaint periods can apply |
| Address dependency appears | Sender/India Post official correction route according to eligibility | A requested correction is not completion |
| Return to sender begins | Confirm the exact return reason and contact the sender/merchant | A return record does not itself determine refund rights |
| You need a complaint or investigation | India Post official complaint route | Complaint, inquiry, loss determination, and compensation are different |
| Suspicious SMS, fee, or address link | Open official India Post/customs routes independently | A real article number does not authenticate the message |
For a cross-carrier decision, use Who Should I Contact About a Package?.
India Post complaints, loss, and compensation are different stages
Do not use complaint, inquiry, lost item, claim, and compensation as synonyms.
complaint filed
→ official inquiry or handling
→ possible loss/damage determination
→ possible compensation decision
A complaint ID proves that an official case exists. It does not prove carrier fault, loss, claim approval, or payment.
Current domestic time boundaries
The following summary reflects the Post Office Regulations, 2024 as reviewed on July 24, 2026. Verify the current regulation and product before relying on a deadline.
| Domestic issue | Current regulatory boundary |
|---|---|
| Non-receipt complaint | Sender or addressee may complain after 15 days and within 60 days of booking |
| Damage or part loss | Complaint is subject to a two-day period from receipt |
| Loss treatment for compensation | The item may be treated as lost after 60 days from booking or 30 days from complaint, whichever is later, when the complaint was timely |
| Compensation recipient | Compensation is generally payable to the sender, although sender or addressee may complain |
Current international time boundaries
The same current regulation distinguishes international categories:
| International issue | Current regulatory boundary |
|---|---|
| Damage, partial loss, or theft | Complaint within 24 hours |
| Parcel, registered, or insured item | Complaint within six months |
| EMS item | Complaint within four months |
These are high-stakes, product-specific rules. They are not legal advice, and they do not prove entitlement. Verify the current official text and exact service immediately, especially after damage or missing contents.
Use the Package Claim Guide for the general evidence and actor model, then follow India Post’s current complaint and compensation route.
Complaint escalation
India Post’s official guidance routes complaints through:
- the Postmaster or office in charge where the transaction occurred;
- the Senior Superintendent or Superintendent of the division;
- the Postmaster General of the region;
- current web, helpline, and office-directory routes;
- the Directorate of Public Grievances when the Department has not resolved the matter satisfactorily within a reasonable period.
Use the current India Post directory. Do not rely on a phone number copied from a forum or an old article.
Verify India Post delivery, customs, and payment messages safely
A suspicious message can include a real or plausible article number.
Use this sequence:
- do not use the link in the original message;
- open
indiapost.gov.inindependently; - enter the article number in the official tracker or this supported 11Tracking form;
- compare the exact event and responsible actor;
- use the current official India Post or customs route;
- do not send an OTP, password, identity document, card data, or customs attachment to an unverified contact.
Do not use the unsafe blanket rule:
India Post never asks for payment
Legitimate contexts can include:
- COD;
- customs duty;
- postage or product fees;
- other official charges tied to the item and service.
The safe question is whether the exact charge, event, channel, domain, and responsible actor are verified independently.
Use Fake Delivery Message for the complete scam-verification workflow.
Protect India Post shipment data
Treat the following as sensitive:
- article or consignment number;
- full sender or recipient address;
- phone number and email;
- booking receipt;
- complaint ID and attachments;
- OTP;
- government-issued identification;
- signature or POD;
- customs declaration and supporting documents;
- invoice, value, and contents;
- payment or card information;
- post-office collection notice.
This page does not need those documents to explain the general tracking evidence or next step.
Do not put a complete article number into a public post, screenshot, URL, analytics event, metadata field, or structured-data example.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between India Post tracking and Speed Post tracking?
India Post is the postal operator. Speed Post is one of its accountable service families. The same India Post tracking environment can expose Speed Post and other eligible postal products, but their transport, delivery, proof, and complaint rules are not identical.
Where can I find the India Post article or consignment number?
Check the booking receipt, shipping label, official dispatch notice, merchant message, or sender confirmation. Do not use a merchant order number unless it is explicitly identified as the India Post article number.
Can I track India Post by phone number, name, address, PIN code, or order number?
Not through this carrier form. Enter a supported article or consignment number. The official India Post site also has separate Money Order and complaint lookup paths, but those are not shipment inputs on this page.
Why does India Post say “Consignment details not found”?
The identifier may be mistyped, not yet public, not customer-trackable, issued by another carrier, or be a merchant, complaint, Money Order, passport, or payment reference rather than the shipment article number. The message does not establish loss or physical handoff.
Does Item Booked mean India Post has accepted the item?
It confirms the booking event recorded by India Post. It does not prove departure from the booking office or later network movement. A later receipt, processing, or dispatch event is stronger evidence of downstream progress.
What do Item Bagged and Bag Despatched prove?
They support a mail-bag or receptacle processing stage under the exact wording. They do not automatically prove that the exact item received an individual scan onto a specific vehicle, train, or aircraft, or that it arrived at the next office.
What does Item Dispatched mean?
It supports that India Post recorded dispatch from the named office. It does not establish arrival at the next office, customs clearance, or a guaranteed next event.
Why has India Post tracking stopped updating?
Public tracking is event-based. A scan gap can reflect a long transport leg, delayed publication, another postal operator, customs, or an unresolved problem. The gap does not prove either loss or normal movement. Use the exact last event, product, expected date, and official complaint boundary.
Does Out for Delivery guarantee delivery today?
No. It records entry into the local delivery stage. Access, address, identification, signature, OTP, COD, route capacity, or an operational issue can prevent completion.
How many delivery attempts does India Post make?
The current 2024 regulatory baseline says an accountable item is issued for delivery twice. After two unsuccessful attempts, an arrival notice supports post-office collection. Exact special-product and administrative instructions can differ, so follow the current notice.
When is an India Post item ready to collect?
Wait for the exact arrival or collection instruction. A failed attempt, notice, redirection request, or delivery-office receipt does not automatically prove that the item is physically ready at the counter.
How long will India Post hold an undelivered item?
The current regulations contain a general seven-day deposit period after unsuccessful enquiries, while product and administrative instructions can control the practical hold. Use the exact notice and current official guidance rather than assuming one universal deadline.
What changed between Registered Post and Speed Post in October 2025?
India Post repositioned registration as a value-added service for Speed Post documents and parcels when addressee-specific delivery is selected. Legacy Registered Post receipts, searches, and tracking histories can still exist and should not be treated as automatically invalid.
Does every Speed Post delivery require OTP?
No. OTP is a scoped value-added delivery option. The special 24 Speed Post product uses OTP within its own eligible service. Ordinary Speed Post should not be described as universally OTP-based.
Is every Speed Post item delivered the next day?
No. The D+1 commitment belongs to the separate eligible 24 Speed Post product. Ordinary Speed Post delivery depends on the product, route, PIN codes, operational conditions, and current official service standard.
Can I get India Post proof of delivery or a signature?
Proof, signature, OTP, or POD can be available when the product and value-added service support it. Availability, authentication, requester eligibility, and retention vary. 11Tracking does not retrieve private proof.
Does Delivered mean the named recipient personally received the item?
Not automatically. India Post recorded delivery completion, but the product can permit address delivery or receipt by an authorised person. Review the eligible proof and contact the delivery office if the outcome is disputed.
Can I change the address, recall, or redirect an India Post item?
Some current regulations allow scoped requests by eligible actors before restricted stages. A request may be unavailable once the item is out for delivery or legally held, and submission does not guarantee acceptance or completion.
Is International Speed Post the same as EMS?
International Speed Post is India Post’s EMS product. EMS is a UPU inter-operator postal service, not one private carrier. India Post and the destination postal operator control different parts of the route.
Does a 13-character number guarantee tracking?
No. A UPU S10-shaped identifier supports postal item identification, but it does not guarantee public tracking, delivery confirmation, complete scan history, customs clearance, or current India Post possession.
Why did international tracking stop after dispatch from India?
The item may be between operators, in transport, with customs, or awaiting destination-post publication. An India dispatch event does not prove destination acceptance. Check the destination operator and exact international product.
What does an India Post customs hold mean?
It means a customs-stage dependency was recorded. It does not automatically mean seizure, loss, or that India Post can release the item. Follow the exact official document or information request.
What does OOE/OEE No EDI mean?
The reviewed official sources do not provide one complete public definition for every use of this phrase. Preserve the exact event, check surrounding international/customs events, and use the official India Post or customs route instead of relying on an aggregator decoder.
Who can file an India Post complaint?
Current regulations permit the sender or addressee to complain in relevant domestic non-receipt cases. The exact product and issue matter. Compensation is generally payable to the sender, so complaint authority and compensation recipient are not the same.
How can I verify an India Post payment or redelivery message?
Open India Post or the relevant customs site independently, compare the exact article and event, and use the official route. Do not trust a link merely because it contains a real article number. Legitimate COD, customs, or postal charges can exist, so verify the channel rather than relying on a blanket “never pay” rule.
Can 11Tracking contact India Post, clear customs, or file a complaint?
No. 11Tracking can perform a supported shipment lookup and explain the public record. It cannot create scans, contact a post office or delivery employee, change delivery, release customs, obtain private proof, file a complaint or claim, or recover an item.
Keep India Post updates together in USTracking
After identifying the product, strongest recorded event, and correct official action, USTracking can help you:
- save a supported India Post shipment;
- organize available public events in one timeline;
- monitor future recorded changes;
- receive notifications;
- read plain-language explanations;
- keep publicly available origin-post and destination-post events together when the provider returns them.
USTracking cannot:
- determine the physical location outside recorded data;
- create, correct, accelerate, or force a scan;
- track by name, phone number, address, order number, Money Order reference, or complaint ID unless separately supported;
- identify every product from the number alone;
- guarantee that an S10 number has full tracking;
- discover a second destination number unless it is publicly returned;
- access private OTP, signature, POD, complaint, customs, identity, or payment data;
- authenticate a message, caller, domain, link, QR code, or fee;
- contact India Post, a post office, customs authority, destination post, sender, merchant, marketplace, or delivery employee;
- change an address;
- recall, redirect, or hold an item;
- clear customs or pay duty;
- start an investigation;
- file or receive a complaint, claim, refund, or compensation;
- recover a missing item;
- guarantee an update or delivery.
Use USTracking as a monitoring and interpretation companion, not as a substitute for India Post, customs, the destination postal operator, sender, merchant, or official complaint process.

Scope and limitations
- This page explains India Post public tracking evidence and product routing. It does not diagnose a specific shipment.
- The current 11Tracking form is intended for supported shipment article or consignment numbers, not Money Order or complaint lookup.
- India Post product names, tariffs, contact details, special-service coverage, international availability, and complaint rules can change.
- The page does not provide a universal India Post event-code dictionary because the reviewed official sources do not define every visible operational phrase.
- Bag and receptacle events are not automatically treated as item-level transport proof.
- No universal delivery estimate or waiting period is published.
- International tracking, customs, destination-post delivery, proof, complaint, and compensation rules vary by product and jurisdiction.
- 11Tracking and USTracking are not India Post, a customs authority, or a destination postal operator and cannot act on the physical shipment.
- Verify high-stakes deadlines, fees, eligibility, and contact routes through the current official source before acting.
Last reviewed: July 24, 2026 Review due: October 22, 2026 Evidence basis: Current India Post product pages, Post Office Regulations 2024, Ministry of Communications releases, CBIC material, and UPU standards Primary scope: India Post domestic accountable items, Speed Post, India Post Parcel, outbound/inbound international postal items, and EMS handoffs
India Post and Speed Post are trademarks of India Post / Department of Posts. 11Tracking is an independent tracking helper and is not affiliated with or endorsed by India Post.

After you track a parcel, its number is added to the page address so the result can be refreshed or shared. Anyone with that link can use the number, so share it only with people you trust.
