How to track XPO LTL freight
- Confirm that the shipment belongs to XPO North American LTL rather than XPO Europe, GXO, RXO, or another carrier.
- Find the XPO PRO on the shipment/freight paperwork or sender record.
- Open the current XPO shipment tracker.
- Enter the PRO/tracking number exactly as issued.
- Interpret the returned shipment events separately from pre-shipment documents or references.
XPO's current LTL help directs users to track an LTL shipment by PRO number. If you are unsure whether the number you were given is actually the shipment identifier you need, use 11Tracking's tracking-number verification guide before guessing from the number's shape.
What is an XPO PRO number?
For XPO LTL, the PRO is the primary public tracking identifier. XPO documents a nine-digit PRO structure in which the ninth digit is a MOD-7 check digit derived from the first eight digits.
That gives you useful validation evidence, but it has strict limits:
And even a genuine XPO PRO does not prove the freight has already been picked up:
A PRO can be assigned during shipment preparation. The number format helps classify a reference; it should not be used as automatic carrier detection.
PRO, BOL, pickup request, PARS / CCN, and POD: which reference is which?
XPO freight workflows can contain several identifiers and documents. They are not interchangeable.
| Evidence or reference | Public treatment |
|---|---|
| XPO PRO | Primary current public LTL tracking identifier |
| Bill of Lading (BOL) | Freight document; may exist before pickup and is not automatic custody proof |
| Pickup Request | Operational request/reference; can exist before pickup is completed |
| PARS / CCN | Canada customs-control reference; not a universal XPO tracking-number family |
| Delivery Receipt / POD | Delivery-evidence document in the authorized customer-portal workflow; not a tracking-number alias |
Other account, commercial, customs, or integration references may exist in XPO workflows, but this page does not promise them as inputs to the current anonymous public tracker.
Does a PRO or BOL mean XPO has the freight?
No. Preparation evidence and custody evidence answer different questions.
XPO's online BOL workflow can assign a PRO while the shipment is still being prepared. A pickup request can also exist before the pickup occurs.
Use the strongest shipment-specific event you actually have:
PRO / BOL / pickup preparation exists
→ shipment is identified or prepared
actual pickup event
→ stronger evidence that XPO recorded pickup
later movement or service-center event
→ evidence of recorded network movement
estimated delivery information
→ forecast, not completed delivery
Delivered
→ recorded delivery outcome
Delivery Receipt / POD
→ stronger delivery document where available
The important rule is not to promote an earlier administrative record into a physical event it does not prove.
If you already have an active XPO tracking record but it has stopped changing, the general tracking-not-updating guide can help you separate an unchanged public timeline from stronger shipment evidence. The guide is cross-carrier; XPO-specific actions still belong to XPO.
What does XPO Delivery Receipt / Proof of Delivery show?
XPO's current Document Finder lists Delivery Receipt (Proof of Delivery) as a shipment document available through the XPO customer portal and retrievable by PRO.
That is useful evidence, but the public evidence reviewed for this page does not establish universal anonymous access to all possible delivery fields. Do not assume every shipment publicly exposes:
- a delivery photo;
- a signature image;
- a signer name;
- GPS coordinates;
- exact delivery coordinates.
If you need to understand what a POD record can and cannot prove, see How to Get Proof of Delivery, a Delivery Photo, or a Signature. For an XPO freight document itself, use the verified XPO customer-portal process available to the authorized account role.
Is “XPO Logistics” the same as XPO LTL?
Sometimes the phrase points to the right historical North American context, but it is not a safe exact identity by itself.
The legal parent changed:
XPO Logistics, Inc.
→ XPO, Inc.
December 19, 2022
Current XPO still reports two different operating segments:
- North American Less-Than-Truckload;
- European Transportation.
Current European first-party pages continue to use XPO Logistics / XPO Logistics Europe wording. So use shipment context:
| What the evidence identifies | Where to go |
|---|---|
| XPO North American LTL / XPO PRO | This XPO LTL page and the current XPO tracker |
| XPO Logistics Europe / European XPO shipment | Current Europe-specific XPO Logistics workflow/site |
| GXO | Separate GXO company/system |
| RXO | Separate RXO company/system |
| Historical Express Postal Options (XPO) | Unrelated ePost Global lineage |
Do not force a European shipment into the North American PRO contract just because both use the XPO name.
GXO and RXO are not XPO LTL aliases
Two former XPO businesses became separate companies:
- XPO completed the GXO spin-off in 2021. GXO is now a separate contract-logistics provider.
- XPO completed the RXO spin-off in 2022. RXO is now a separate brokered/asset-light transportation company.
If the active shipment or account clearly identifies GXO or RXO, exit this page and use that company's own current system. Historical records can still contain XPO wording; that history does not make GXO or RXO an alias of today's XPO LTL carrier identity.
Express Postal Options “XPO” is a different identity
There is another historical acronym collision: ePost Global traces part of its history to R.R. Donnelley's Express Postal Options (XPO) division.
That historical XPO is unrelated to current XPO, Inc. / XPO LTL. Do not use an Express Postal Options reference as though it were a North American XPO LTL PRO.
XPO LTL delivery time is lane- and service-dependent
Do not use one generic statement such as “XPO takes X days” for every LTL shipment.
XPO's current North American LTL network includes domestic and cross-border freight. The current Canada guidance, for example, directs users to shipment-specific rate/transit tools and notes that transit depends on the origin/lane. Use the current XPO quote/transit information for the specific shipment and service instead of applying a universal duration.
An estimated delivery date is still a forecast. It is not evidence that delivery has occurred.
Canada: what is PARS / CCN?
For U.S.-to-Canada LTL, XPO documents a PARS / Cargo Control Number (CCN) used in the customs process. XPO's Canada guidance constructs that reference from carrier code 3959 plus the PRO.
Treat it as a Canada customs reference, not as a second universal XPO tracking-number family.
PARS / CCN
=
Canada customs-control reference
Customs release is controlled by the applicable customs/broker/shipper process. A tracking page cannot clear freight through customs.
Who should you contact about an XPO LTL shipment?
Use the actor that controls the next action.
| Need | Best route |
|---|---|
| Public shipment status | XPO public tracker using the PRO |
| Shipment-specific delivery/service help | XPO local service center / current XPO contact route |
| Delivery Receipt / POD | Authorized XPO customer-portal workflow |
| Cargo loss or damage claim | XPO cargo-claim workflow for the eligible account/claimant role |
| Billing / overcharge dispute | Separate XPO overcharge workflow |
| Seller refund or replacement | Seller / merchant / marketplace |
| Customs filing or release issue | Shipper, broker and/or customs authority according to the shipment |
| European XPO shipment | Europe-specific XPO Logistics route |
XPO's current Contact Us page routes North American shipment assistance to local service centers and sends European matters to a separate Europe route.
For a general actor-selection framework, use Who Should I Contact About a Package?. The title is package-oriented, but the core decision rule still applies here: contact the party that actually controls the next freight action.
Cargo claims and overcharge claims are different
XPO's current claims guidance separates at least two different jobs.
Cargo loss or damage
Current XPO guidance routes cargo loss/damage claims through the customer portal and requires supporting documentation, including the required vendor invoice and relevant inspection/photo evidence where applicable.
Do not assume every recipient or consignee is automatically the eligible claimant. Freight claim rights can depend on the shipment/account/contract role.
Overcharge / billing claim
Overcharge claims use a separate billing workflow. XPO's current page states a 180-day filing period from receipt of the original invoice for that overcharge process.
That rule must stay scoped:
Do not copy the billing deadline onto a cargo claim unless a separate authoritative cargo rule establishes it.
What 11Tracking can and cannot do
11Tracking can help you:
- identify whether this North American XPO LTL page applies;
- use the correct PRO/tracking reference;
- separate a freight document/reference from physical custody evidence;
- interpret the evidence ceiling of a tracking event;
- find the actor or official workflow that controls the next action.
11Tracking cannot:
- contact XPO, GXO, RXO, XPO Europe, a shipper, broker, customs authority or seller;
- create or backfill XPO scans;
- schedule pickup or change a freight delivery;
- recover or reroute freight;
- access the XPO customer portal or private account records;
- obtain a private Delivery Receipt/POD;
- file cargo or billing claims;
- clear customs;
- force a seller refund;
- guarantee delivery.
Privacy: use the PRO, not private freight documents
A public tracking lookup should use the shipment's XPO PRO / tracking identifier.
Do not paste unrelated or sensitive freight material into a generic tracking field, including:
- XPO account passwords or customer-portal credentials;
- API credentials;
- bills of lading or commercial invoices;
- customs forms or importer data;
- claim evidence or damage photos;
- payment data;
- private addresses or business-account records.
Sensitive documents belong only in the verified official XPO, broker, customs, merchant or account process that specifically requests them.
XPO, XPO Logistics, GXO, RXO and related names belong to their respective owners. 11Tracking is an independent tracking helper and is not affiliated with or endorsed by XPO, GXO or RXO.
Tracking events and delivery estimates come from connected tracking services and carriers. Updates may be delayed, incomplete or revised. 11Tracking does not transport packages and cannot change a delivery.
After you track a parcel, its number is added to the page address so the result can be refreshed or shared. Anyone with that link can use the number, so share it only with people you trust.
