Track an Australia Post shipment on this page
Enter the tracking number exactly as shown on the label, receipt, satchel, sender notification, merchant order page, MyPost record, or official Australia Post message.
Preserve:
- every digit;
- every letter;
- leading zeros;
- the full international prefix or suffix;
- the original order of characters.
Do not substitute:
- a Parcel Locker access code;
- a collection QR code;
- a 10-digit Australia Post Customer Number used for Parcel Collect;
- a MyPost login;
- a merchant order number;
- a complaint or enquiry reference;
- a customs reference;
- a delivery-card number unless the form explicitly supports it;
- a StarTrack account number;
- a photo or signature reference;
- a phone number, email address, name, or street address.
Australia Post’s own tracker can accept several numbers in one official lookup. The promise on this 11Tracking page is narrower:
Enter one supported Australia Post-associated tracking number.
Is the shipment Australia Post, StarTrack, a tracked letter, or an international postal item?
The combined Australia Post website includes Australia Post, StarTrack, and StarTrack Courier services. That does not make them one carrier workflow.
| Context | What it represents | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Australia Post Parcel Post | Domestic parcel service | Estimate, redirect, Safe Drop, collection, and compensation depend on the product and route |
| Australia Post Express Post | Faster domestic parcel service | Next-business-day guarantee applies only in the eligible network and when conditions are met |
| Tracked letter or Registered Post | Mail product with product-specific tracking and proof | Letter and legal-delivery rules must not be inferred from parcel events |
| MyPost | Personal account and delivery-management layer | It is not the tracking number and does not match every parcel |
| AusPost app | Authenticated tracking, notifications, redirect, Safe Drop, collection, and photo functions | 11Tracking does not access the app account or private evidence |
| Parcel Locker | Automated sending or collection channel | Sender drop-off, Australia Post collection, readiness, and customer collection are separate |
| Parcel Collect | Collection at a chosen Post Office using an account identifier | The customer number is not a tracking number |
| StarTrack | A business of Australia Post with separate products and support | Do not assume an Australia Post provider accepts every StarTrack consignment |
| StarTrack Courier | A separate courier context within the consolidated public environment | Do not silently treat it as Australia Post or core StarTrack |
| International postal item | Australia Post plus origin or destination postal operators and customs | No single actor controls every public event |
Australia Post and StarTrack are related but distinct
StarTrack is a business of Australia Post. The public website now provides a combined entry point, but StarTrack retains distinct:
- consignment and product contexts;
- business services;
- missed-delivery and redelivery workflows;
- support routes;
- claims;
- likely tracking-provider mappings.
Use this boundary:
StarTrack is a business of Australia Post
≠ every StarTrack item is an Australia Post parcel
one public website
≠ one provider code
Australia Post tracking page
≠ full StarTrack tracking guide
Use the carrier shown on the label or official record. A separate StarTrack page should own StarTrack-specific tracking and delivery guidance.
A recognised number does not prove Australia Post has the item
A sender can create electronic shipment data before physical handoff.
Use the early evidence sequence:
label or manifest created
→ electronic shipment data exists
Pending / The sender is preparing your parcel
→ no Australia Post item-level acceptance is established by that event
sender drop-off or pickup evidence
→ physical handoff channel is recorded
Picked up from sender / Received by Australia Post
→ Australia Post possession is recorded
facility or In transit event
→ later network processing is recorded
Therefore:
number recognised
≠ Australia Post possession
merchant says shipped
≠ carrier acceptance
label created
≠ physical handoff
no first scan
≠ proof the sender still has it
Possible reasons for no acceptance event include:
- electronic preparation only;
- street posting box awaiting first scan;
- Parcel Locker sender drop-off awaiting Australia Post collection;
- delayed publication;
- wrong or old number;
- unsupported service;
- another carrier.
A later Picked up from sender, Received by Australia Post, facility, or transit event would change the conclusion.
Use What Does “Label Created” Mean? and Carrier Received Package for the wider evidence model.
Parcel Locker sender drop-off is not the same as formal lodgement
Australia Post lets eligible senders place labelled parcels into a Parcel Locker. The sender can receive tracking details after scanning and closing the compartment.
Current MyPost Deliveries Terms make an important distinction:
A suitable item placed in a Parcel Locker for sending is deemed lodged when Australia Post collects it from the Locker.
That creates separate states:
verification or shipping record
→ labelled parcel scanned
→ Locker compartment opened
→ parcel placed and door closed
→ drop-off or tracking confirmation
→ Australia Post collects suitable parcel
→ formal lodgement
→ facility processing
A digital confirmation is valuable sender evidence, but it does not prove that Australia Post already emptied the Locker or processed the parcel at a facility.
Australia Post states that it endeavours to collect suitable sender Locker items on the next business day. An endeavour is not a guaranteed collection time.
Express Post guarantee and Parcel Locker sending
Current terms state that the Express Post next-business-day guarantee does not apply when an Express Post item is sent through a Parcel Locker.
Therefore:
Express Post product
+ Parcel Locker sender lodgement
≠ next-business-day guarantee
The product name alone does not establish a guarantee.
What an Australia Post tracking result confirms
Read the exact event, timestamp, product, delivery channel, and location together.
| Evidence level | What it can confirm | What it does not establish by itself |
|---|---|---|
| Number recognised | A public record can be associated with the input | Physical acceptance, product, or current operator |
| Label or manifest created | Sender prepared shipment data | Handoff or possession |
Pending / sender preparing | No current item-level acceptance is shown by that event | Loss, sender fraud, or carrier possession |
| Sender drop-off or digital confirmation | The stated handoff channel was used | Australia Post collection or facility processing |
Picked up from sender | Australia Post recorded sender pickup | Later processing |
Received by Australia Post | Australia Post recorded acceptance | Departure from the facility |
Facility / In transit event | The stated network stage was recorded | Live GPS or continuous movement |
Onboard for delivery | Local delivery was planned | Guaranteed completion that day |
Attempted delivery | A delivery-attempt outcome was recorded | One universal reason or next branch |
Awaiting collection | The item is ready at the stated collection point | Notification delivery or collection |
| Access code or collection authorisation | Credential or authority exists | Named identity or successful pickup |
Delivered | Carrier-recorded completion | Personal receipt by the named addressee |
| Signature, scan, code, or photograph | An additional proof layer | Every disputed fact |
| Customs event | The stated customs stage | Release, carrier movement, or delivery |
| Complaint or claim | A formal process began | Fault or compensation |
Australia Post tracking is event-based, not continuous GPS.
The public record can pass through several times:
physical event
→ employee or device record
→ Australia Post publication
→ email, SMS, or app notification
→ provider ingestion
→ 11Tracking display
Australia Post’s current terms say tracking information can be affected by technical and telecommunications factors and is not guaranteed always accurate or current.
How to read common Australia Post tracking updates
Australia Post publishes status references, consumer help, business notification guidance, and examples. It does not provide one complete public dictionary for every parcel, letter, StarTrack, return, collection, and international event.
Keep the exact wording and product context.
Pending
Current consumer help says Pending means the item has not yet been scanned into the Australia Post system.
The same help notes that an older tracking number with no activity for more than three months can also appear as Pending.
Safe conclusion:
No current Australia Post item-level scan is established by the public status.
Possible explanations include:
- label or manifest created;
- sender has not handed it over;
- street posting box awaiting first scan;
- Parcel Locker drop-off awaiting Australia Post collection;
- delayed publication;
- old or incorrect number.
Do not say the sender definitely still has it or Australia Post definitely lost it.
Ready for processing
This is older customer wording associated with an electronic sender-manifest stage.
It does not prove physical handoff, possession, or facility processing.
The sender is preparing your parcel
Current Australia Post business guidance says this wording replaced the older Ready for processing message for the sender-manifest milestone.
Safe conclusion:
- the sender created or submitted electronic shipment information.
It does not prove:
- the parcel was posted;
- Australia Post collected it;
- a facility received it;
- a delivery estimate is guaranteed.
Picked up from sender
Australia Post recorded a pickup from the sender in the stated workflow.
This is stronger possession evidence than a label, manifest, or booking event.
Received by Australia Post
Australia Post recorded acceptance or receipt.
It does not prove:
- departure from the acceptance facility;
- continuous movement;
- next-day delivery;
- no later exception.
Item processed at facility
The item was scanned at an Australia Post processing facility.
It does not show where the parcel moved after that event unless a later scan is published.
In transit
Current Australia Post guidance describes an item that has been lodged, processed, and is on the way but not yet delivered.
It is not:
- live GPS;
- proof of current vehicle position;
- proof of uninterrupted movement;
- proof of loss when a later scan is delayed.
Use Tracking Not Updating for the broader diagnosis.
Onboard for delivery
Australia Post states that the driver or postie has the parcel and plans to deliver it that day.
It does not guarantee:
- the exact sequence of stops;
- the displayed two-hour window;
- access to the premises;
- approval of a Safe Drop location;
- delivery rather than a collection-point branch.
Use Out for Delivery and Out for Delivery but Not Delivered for the wider action model.
Possible delay
Australia Post’s status reference says a delay is highly likely.
Do not infer one cause. The reason can involve:
- disruption;
- route;
- processing;
- address;
- transport;
- customs;
- another exception.
Read the detailed event and current disruption page.
Attempted delivery
Australia Post recorded a delivery attempt.
This does not automatically prove:
- recipient absence;
- correct address;
- doorbell use;
- access conditions;
- a card or notification arrived;
- the next location.
The AusPost app can provide an attempted-delivery photograph in eligible cases. The photograph is additional evidence, not a complete fault finding.
Awaiting collection
The item is ready at the named collection facility.
It does not prove:
- the access code or notification reached the recipient;
- the customer collected it;
- any Post Office can release it;
- one universal holding period applies.
Delivered
Australia Post recorded completion under the applicable delivery rules.
The current General Terms allow delivery through several outcomes, including:
- mailbox;
- PO Box or eligible bag service;
- Parcel Locker;
- person with apparent authority;
- apparently responsible person at the premises;
- safe location at the address.
Therefore, generic Delivered does not prove personal receipt by the named addressee.
Delivered – Left in a safe place
Australia Post recorded a Safe Drop-style completion.
It does not automatically prove:
- the requested location was used;
- the correct property;
- the named addressee authorised it;
- the parcel remained secure;
- the contents were intact.
Unsuccessful pickup
Australia Post recorded that an arranged collection from the sender did not succeed.
This is a sender-side collection event, not a delivery attempt to the recipient.
Delivery estimates, two-hour windows, and Express Post guarantees
Australia Post publishes product- and route-specific estimates.
Current broad domestic business guidance includes ranges such as:
- Parcel Post within the same state: approximately 2–4 business days;
- Parcel Post interstate: approximately 3–6 business days;
- Express Post within the same state: approximately 1–2 or more business days;
- Express Post interstate: approximately 1–3 or more business days.
These ranges are not one promise for every postcode, lodgement method, disruption, cutoff, or delivery channel.
Two-hour delivery window
A two-hour window can appear when current route data supports it.
It is:
- an estimate;
- generated from route information;
- subject to change.
It is not:
- live GPS;
- fixed stop order;
- a contractual guarantee;
- proof that a parcel will not move to a Post Office or Locker.
Express Post guarantee
The next-business-day guarantee applies only:
- within the eligible Express Post network;
- when lodgement and service requirements are met;
- when no stated exclusion applies.
When the guarantee applies and Australia Post misses it, the official remedy is generally directed to the sender as a postage refund.
It is not a universal recipient compensation promise.
Parcel Locker sender lodgement is one confirmed guarantee exclusion.
Redirecting an eligible parcel through MyPost
MyPost can show an in-transit redirect for an eligible parcel.
Current eligibility depends on factors including:
- a MyPost account;
- a parcel addressed to a street address;
- sufficient sender-supplied mobile or email data to match the parcel;
- sender permission;
- supported tracking data;
- the parcel not yet being
Onboard for delivery.
Eligible options can include:
- another street address;
- Parcel Locker;
- Parcel Collect or Post Office;
- the recipient’s PO Box.
Redirect state model
parcel matched to MyPost
→ redirect option displayed
→ request submitted
→ request assessed
→ accepted or unsuccessful notification
→ physical route change
→ new delivery or collection event
Therefore:
option displayed
≠ request submitted
request submitted
≠ accepted
accepted
≠ parcel already at the new destination
Why redirect can be unavailable
Possible reasons include:
- sender did not supply matching contact data;
- sender opted out;
- parcel was originally addressed to a Locker, Post Office, Parcel Collect, or PO Box;
- tracking data cannot support the change;
- parcel is already onboard;
- product or route is not eligible.
Redirect timing
Current guidance says a redirect can add:
- at least one business day for retrieval;
- plus the delivery time to the new destination.
A MyPost redirect is not the same as correcting every original label or merchant address problem.
Use Change, Reroute, or Hold a Package for the full cross-carrier decision tree.
Safe Drop is conditional, not guaranteed
Safe Drop can be available when:
- the parcel is addressed to a street address;
- MyPost can match it;
- the sender allows the option;
- the service and item are eligible;
- the driver considers the location safe and accessible.
Current guidance allows an eligible recipient to request Safe Drop up to one hour before the delivery time shown in the relevant workflow.
Signature parcels and Safe Drop
Some signature parcels can be Safe Dropped when the sender permits it and the item remains eligible.
Other requirements, including sender restrictions, identity rules, Extra Cover, or product conditions, can block Safe Drop.
The driver decides whether the location is safe
A requested location should be:
- hidden from public view;
- protected from weather;
- accessible;
- suitable for the parcel.
The driver can reject the location and take the parcel to a collection point.
Safe Drop state model
preference saved
→ parcel matched
→ option available
→ request submitted
→ driver assesses location
→ Safe Drop completed or collection branch
A saved preference or submitted request is not proof of completion.
Safe Drop photograph
The AusPost app can show a delivery photograph in eligible cases.
A photo can support where the parcel was placed at the recorded moment. It does not automatically prove:
- correct property;
- recipient authorisation;
- continued possession;
- package contents;
- package condition.
Use Proof of Delivery, Photo, and Signature for the wider evidence model.
Attempted delivery does not create one universal second-attempt rule
For the standard consumer parcel flow, Australia Post explains that when nobody is available, a signature is required, or no eligible safe place exists, the parcel can be taken to a Collection Point.
Do not publish:
Australia Post always makes two or three home-delivery attempts.
Possible next branches include:
- Parcel Locker;
- assigned Post Office;
- Parcel Collect or another collection facility;
- return;
- product-specific reattempt;
- StarTrack-specific workflow.
A later exact event controls the next action.
Attempted-delivery photograph
An eligible photograph can support the recorded attempt location or access context.
It does not by itself prove:
- the correct address;
- recipient absence;
- every required step;
- a notification was delivered;
- carrier fault or no fault.
Parcel Locker, Parcel Collect, and Post Office collection are different workflows
Standard Parcel Locker after delivery or missed delivery
Current standard flow:
parcel placed in Locker
→ ready notification and confidential access code
→ two business days for collection
→ collected
or transferred to nearby Post Office
→ new notification
→ ten business days for collection
→ collected or returned
The access code is not a tracking number
The Parcel Locker access code is:
- confidential;
- single-use;
- a collection credential.
Current terms can treat secure code entry as satisfying a Signature on Delivery requirement for the scoped service.
That means:
access code used
= credential-based delivery evidence
access code used
≠ named addressee identity verified
Do not share the code in a public message or screenshot.
Locker capacity and suitability
Australia Post does not guarantee a dedicated or available Locker compartment.
If the nominated Locker cannot accept the parcel:
- Australia Post can make another loading attempt;
- an unsuitable parcel can move to a Parcel Collect facility;
- the user can receive a new collection instruction.
A move from a Locker address to a Post Office does not automatically prove an address error.
Parcel Collect
Parcel Collect uses:
- a selected Post Office;
- MyPost;
- a 10-digit Australia Post Customer Number;
- parcel-specific collection notification.
The customer number is not the parcel tracking number.
Current collection period is generally ten business days after arrival.
Missed-delivery Post Office collection
A missed parcel at its assigned Post Office generally has a ten-business-day collection period before return.
Proof of identity or collection authorisation can be required.
Separate 24/7 PO Box Parcel Locker
A 24/7 PO Box Parcel Locker can use a separate five-working-day period or another outlet-specific period.
Do not transfer that rule to the standard Parcel Locker.
Can another person collect?
Some items can be collected by an authorised person using:
- appropriate proof;
- MyPost app authorisation;
- written authorisation;
- the official collection process.
Some senders require addressee-only collection.
Therefore:
authorised collection possible
≠ every parcel can be delegated
Redelivery after the parcel reaches a Post Office
Current Australia Post consumer guidance says redelivery is not offered after a parcel has been taken to a Post Office.
A paid transfer to another Post Office can be available in the current workflow. That is not home redelivery.
Do not transfer StarTrack redelivery rules to Australia Post.
Delivered, signature, access code, scan, and photograph are different proof layers
| Evidence layer | What it can add | What it does not automatically prove |
|---|---|---|
Delivered | Carrier-recorded completion | Named recipient, correct property, contents, or condition |
| Mailbox / PO Box / Locker event | Delivery to the stated receptacle | Personal handover |
| Safe Drop event | Delivery to a safe-location workflow | Continued security or recipient possession |
| Person at premises | Handover to apparent authority or responsible person | Named-addressee identity |
| Signature | Signature record | Identity verification in ordinary Signature on Delivery |
| Secure Locker code | Credential-based collection/delivery evidence | Named-person identity |
| Date/time scan | Additional operational record | Personal receipt |
| Delivery photo | Placement scene | Correct property, contents, or later possession |
| Attempt photo | Attempt-location context | Every required delivery action |
| Person-to-person Registered Post | Stronger named-recipient product feature | Inclusion in ordinary parcel service |
Signature on Delivery does not necessarily verify identity
Australia Post’s current terms say it uses reasonable endeavours to obtain a signature but does not necessarily verify the signer’s identity.
It can rely on apparent authority.
Therefore:
signature captured
≠ named addressee signed
Delivered does not always mean hand-to-hand delivery
The current delivery definition includes:
- mailbox;
- PO Box;
- bag service;
- Parcel Locker;
- apparent-authority person;
- apparently responsible person;
- safe location.
This is why generic Delivered must be treated as a completion record, not automatic proof of personal receipt.
Delivered but missing
- Read the exact delivery wording.
- Check the app for a photograph when available.
- Check the mailbox, safe location, household, workplace, reception, mailroom, and building management.
- Confirm the delivery address with the sender or merchant.
- Preserve evidence privately.
- Contact the merchant for the purchase remedy.
- Use Australia Post’s delivery-issue or complaint route.
Use Delivered but Not Received for the complete procedure.
International Australia Post tracking involves several actors
An inbound item can involve:
sender
→ origin postal operator
→ international transport
→ Australian customs or quarantine
→ Australia Post acceptance
→ domestic processing
→ delivery or collection
An outbound item can involve:
Australia Post acceptance
→ export and customs
→ international transport
→ destination customs
→ destination postal operator
→ local delivery or collection
International tracking is not always end-to-end
Australia Post’s current terms say outbound international tracking depends on:
- international postal organisations;
- other third parties;
- destination;
- service;
- technical availability.
Tracking may not be available in every place or at every time.
A foreign operator can publish later events or use a second tracking number.
Customs and quarantine are separate actors
Australia Post can carry the item, transmit customs data, and investigate with authorities. Customs or quarantine can inspect, request information, assess, release, delay, confiscate, or destroy under applicable law.
Keep the states separate:
customs data submitted
≠ physical presentation
inspection
≠ release
release
≠ Australia Post facility processing
facility processing
≠ onboard for delivery
Signature abroad
Signature on Delivery is not available in every destination country.
The destination operator’s procedures can control:
- attempt;
- holding period;
- signature;
- final delivery evidence.
Use How International Package Tracking Works and Find the Last-Mile Carrier for the wider handoff model.
Who should act on an Australia Post tracking problem?
| Situation | Best first actor | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Number recognised but only Pending or sender preparing | Sender or merchant | They can verify physical handoff and provide proof |
| Street posting box with no first scan | Sender preserves evidence; Australia Post after the product-specific enquiry gate | First scan can be delayed |
| Parcel Locker sender drop-off but no collection event | Sender preserves drop-off proof; Australia Post | Formal lodgement occurs at Australia Post collection |
Received by Australia Post then no update | Australia Post after the current product gate | Australia Post owns the recorded carrier stage |
Onboard for delivery but no completion | Check next event; Australia Post if unresolved | It is a plan, not a guarantee |
| Attempted delivery | Named collection point or Australia Post | Next branch depends on the exact event |
Awaiting collection but no access code | AusPost app, email/SMS checks, then Australia Post | Readiness and credential delivery are separate |
| Locker expired and moved to Post Office | Named Post Office | A new ten-business-day branch applies |
| Delivered but missing | Delivery location, proof, merchant, and Australia Post | Delivered does not prove personal receipt |
| StarTrack consignment | StarTrack route | Related brand, separate product and support |
| Inbound item before Australia Post acceptance | Sender or origin postal operator | Australia Post may not own the visible stage |
| Customs or quarantine event | Australia Post and the relevant authority according to the action required | The authority controls the decision |
| Purchase, refund, or replacement | Merchant or marketplace | Sale remedy is separate from carrier compensation |
| Formal unresolved complaint | Australia Post first, then Commonwealth Ombudsman when eligible | The Ombudsman requires prior operator complaint |
| Suspicious message | Open auspost.com.au or the app independently | A real number does not authenticate the message |
11Tracking cannot contact Australia Post, StarTrack, a Post Office, a Parcel Locker operator, customs, quarantine, an overseas postal operator, a merchant, or a delivery employee on your behalf.
Late enquiries, complaints, compensation, and merchant remedies are separate
Late-item enquiry gates
Current Australia Post help uses different thresholds.
Examples include:
- domestic items: ten business days after the expected delivery date;
- International Courier or International Express: one business day after the estimate;
- International Standard: ten business days after the estimate;
- International Economy or Airmail: three months after posting;
- International Post Registered: 25 business days after posting.
These thresholds allow an enquiry. They do not prove loss.
Enquiry and complaint are not the same
tracking question
≠ missing-item enquiry
enquiry
≠ formal complaint
complaint submitted
≠ fault established
compensation requested
≠ compensation approved
Included compensation
Current terms provide up to A$100 included compensation for many listed tracked services.
Eligibility depends on:
- exact product;
- Australia Post fault;
- proof of lodgement;
- item value;
- packaging;
- restrictions;
- customs exclusions;
- evidence;
- deadline.
Do not assume A$100 is automatic.
Extra Cover
Extra Cover can increase the covered value for eligible items and services.
It does not guarantee claim approval.
Who can claim?
Current general terms can allow the sender or addressee to claim, but both cannot claim for the same item. Business contracts can use different rights.
For a purchase:
Australia Post compensation
≠ merchant refund
merchant refund
≠ carrier fault admission
Current claim deadlines
The current General Terms include:
- a general six-month period from lodgement for specified loss or damage claims;
- a 30-day period from intended delivery for International Courier or International Express.
These are high-stakes and product-specific. Verify the current terms before acting.
Escalating an unresolved postal complaint
The Commonwealth Ombudsman’s Postal Industry Ombudsman function can investigate complaints about Australia Post and StarTrack.
Current official process:
- make the complaint to the postal operator;
- obtain a complaint reference;
- allow the operator time to respond;
- current Ombudsman guidance identifies ten business days as the relevant waiting point in its tools;
- approach the Ombudsman if the matter remains unresolved and is within scope.
The Ombudsman is not the first tracking-help contact.
The ACCC is not the primary individual parcel-dispute resolver for this postal workflow.
Verify Australia Post and StarTrack messages safely
Current Australia Post scam guidance says it will not call, text, or email asking for:
- payment;
- personal information;
- financial information.
Official 2026 alerts include messages about:
- attempted delivery;
- confirming details;
- confirming address;
- small redelivery fees;
- fake tracking numbers;
- fake Australia Post pages;
- fake StarTrack pages.
A scam can appear in the same sender-ID thread as a legitimate message.
Therefore:
same SMS thread
≠ authentic
real tracking number
≠ authentic
Australia Post logo
≠ authentic
StarTrack branding
≠ authentic
Legitimate postage, customs, Extra Cover, transfer, or service charges can exist. The safe rule is not “Australia Post never receives payment.”
Use this rule:
Australia Post says it will not ask for payment or personal or financial information by call, text, or email. Open auspost.com.au or the AusPost app independently and use only an authenticated official action.
Use Fake Delivery Message for the complete scam process.
Protect Australia Post shipment and collection data
Treat the following as sensitive:
- complete tracking number;
- Parcel Locker access code;
- collection QR code;
- collection authorisation image;
- Australia Post Customer Number;
- phone number and email;
- street address;
- MyPost login;
- delivery or attempt photo;
- signature;
- identity document;
- complaint reference;
- merchant invoice;
- value evidence;
- customs declaration;
- payment data.
Do not place those details into:
- a public forum;
- an unredacted screenshot;
- a public URL;
- analytics;
- metadata;
- JSON-LD examples;
- an unverified support message.
This page does not need private collection or identity data to explain the public event.
Frequently asked questions
How do I track an Australia Post parcel?
Enter one supported Australia Post-associated tracking number in the form on this page. Preserve every letter, digit, leading zero, and international prefix or suffix.
Which number should I enter?
Use the number shown on the label, receipt, satchel, sender notification, merchant page, or official Australia Post record. Do not substitute a Locker code, customer number, order number, complaint reference, or MyPost login.
Can I enter more than one Australia Post number?
Australia Post’s official tracker accepts up to ten numbers. This 11Tracking page promises one supported number per lookup unless the current form explicitly supports more.
Is a Parcel Locker access code a tracking number?
No. The tracking number finds the parcel record. The confidential single-use access code opens an eligible Locker.
Is Australia Post the same as StarTrack?
StarTrack is a business of Australia Post, but it remains a distinct product, tracking, support, and likely provider context.
What does Pending mean?
Current Australia Post help says no item-level scan is shown. The sender may not have handed it over, or it may be in a street box or sender Parcel Locker awaiting Australia Post collection. An old inactive number can also appear as Pending.
What does Ready for processing mean?
It is older wording for an early electronic sender-manifest stage. It does not prove physical possession.
What does The sender is preparing your parcel mean?
It means the sender created or submitted electronic shipment data. Australia Post says this wording replaced Ready for processing in its current notification flow.
Does a recognised number mean Australia Post has the parcel?
No. A label or manifest can exist before physical handoff. Look for Picked up from sender, Received by Australia Post, or a facility event.
Does sender Parcel Locker drop-off mean the parcel was lodged?
Not yet under the current MyPost Deliveries Terms. Lodgement is deemed to occur when Australia Post collects the suitable parcel from the Locker.
What proves Australia Post received the parcel?
A Picked up from sender, Received by Australia Post, or later facility event is stronger possession evidence than a label, Pending status, or sender drop-off confirmation.
What does Received by Australia Post mean?
Australia Post recorded acceptance or receipt. It does not prove that the item left the facility.
What does In transit mean?
Australia Post recorded a processing or network stage and says the item is on its way but not delivered. It is not live GPS.
What does Onboard for delivery mean?
The driver or postie has the parcel and plans delivery that day. It is not an unconditional same-day guarantee.
Is the two-hour Australia Post delivery window guaranteed?
No. It is a forecast based on route information, not live GPS or a contractual guarantee.
What does Possible delay mean?
Australia Post’s status reference says a delay is highly likely. Read the detailed event to identify the cause or next action.
What does Attempted delivery mean?
Australia Post recorded an attempt. The app can show a photograph in eligible cases, but the event does not by itself prove recipient absence, address correctness, or fault.
What does Awaiting collection mean?
The parcel is ready at the named collection facility. It does not prove that the access code arrived or that the parcel was collected.
How long does an Australia Post parcel stay in a Parcel Locker?
A standard Parcel Locker parcel currently waits for two business days. If uncollected, it moves to a nearby Post Office for a further ten-business-day collection period.
Is the Parcel Locker period always 48 hours?
No. The standard rule is expressed as two business days. A separate 24/7 PO Box Parcel Locker can use five working days or another outlet-specific period.
How long does a Post Office hold an Australia Post parcel?
A standard Parcel Collect or missed-delivery Post Office parcel is generally held for ten business days. Product exceptions can apply.
Why did my Locker parcel move to a Post Office?
The Locker may be full, unavailable, unsuitable for the parcel, or the two-business-day period may have expired. The exact notification controls the next location.
What should I do if no Parcel Locker code arrived?
Confirm that Australia Post shows Awaiting collection, check the AusPost app, email, SMS, and spam folder, then contact Australia Post. Do not publish the code or tracking number.
Can another person collect my Australia Post parcel?
Some items can be collected by an authorised person using the official process. Some senders require addressee-only collection.
Does using a Parcel Locker code prove I collected the parcel?
No. It proves a valid credential was used in the scoped workflow. It does not verify the named addressee’s identity.
Can I redirect an Australia Post parcel?
An eligible street-addressed parcel matched to MyPost can be redirected before it becomes onboard for delivery, when the sender and product permit.
Why is redirect unavailable?
The parcel may not be matched, the sender may have blocked it, the original address may be a Locker or Post Office, the tracking data may not support it, or the parcel may already be onboard.
Can I request Safe Drop?
Sometimes. The parcel, address, sender permission, service, and requested location must be eligible.
Can a signature parcel be Safe Dropped?
Some can when the sender permits and no other product restriction applies. Signature does not make Safe Drop universally available.
Is a Safe Drop request guaranteed?
No. The driver can reject an unsafe, visible, weather-exposed, or inaccessible location.
Does a Safe Drop photo prove I received the parcel?
No. It can show placement at the recorded moment. It does not prove named-recipient possession, continued security, contents, or condition.
Does an attempted-delivery photo prove the attempt was correct?
It is additional evidence of the recorded context. It does not automatically prove address accuracy, recipient absence, every required action, or fault.
Does Delivered prove I personally received it?
No. Current Australia Post terms also allow delivery to a mailbox, PO Box, Parcel Locker, safe place, or a person with apparent authority.
Does a signature prove the named recipient signed?
No. Ordinary Signature on Delivery does not necessarily require identity verification.
Is Express Post always guaranteed for the next business day?
No. The guarantee applies only within the eligible network and when all conditions are met. Parcel Locker sender lodgement is a documented exclusion.
Why did international tracking stop?
A foreign postal operator, transport provider, customs, quarantine, or destination network can control the next stage. End-to-end public tracking is not universal.
When should I report a late domestic item?
Current Australia Post help uses ten business days after the expected date as the domestic enquiry gate. This permits an enquiry and does not prove loss.
Does every Australia Post service include A$100 compensation?
No. Current terms list up to A$100 for many tracked services, subject to product, fault, proof, value, packaging, exclusions, and deadlines.
Who can claim compensation?
The sender or addressee can have rights under the current terms, but both cannot claim for the same item. Business contracts can differ.
How do I escalate an unresolved Australia Post complaint?
Complain to Australia Post first, obtain a complaint reference, and allow the operator the current response period. The Commonwealth Ombudsman can then consider eligible unresolved postal complaints.
Does Australia Post ask for payment by SMS or email?
Australia Post says it will not call, text, or email asking for payment or personal or financial information. Open the official site or app independently.
Can 11Tracking redirect, collect, claim, or recover an Australia Post parcel?
No. 11Tracking can perform a supported public tracking-number lookup and explain evidence. It cannot access MyPost, retrieve a Locker code, choose Safe Drop, redirect, collect, contact carriers or authorities, submit a complaint or claim, create scans, release customs, recover a parcel, or guarantee delivery.
Keep Australia Post updates together in USTracking
After identifying the carrier, product, event, evidence boundary, and responsible actor, USTracking can help you:
- save a supported Australia Post tracking number;
- organise public events in one timeline;
- monitor later recorded updates;
- compare Australia Post and foreign postal-operator events when available;
- keep purchases and returns organised;
- receive notifications.
USTracking cannot:
- find a parcel by address, name, phone number, email, or MyPost account;
- retrieve a Parcel Locker code or QR code;
- open a Locker;
- redirect the parcel;
- choose Safe Drop;
- transfer the item between Post Offices;
- nominate a collector;
- retrieve a private photo or signature;
- access a StarTrack account;
- contact Australia Post, StarTrack, a Post Office, customs, quarantine, a merchant, or an overseas operator;
- submit an enquiry, complaint, claim, compensation request, refund, or Ombudsman complaint;
- create or correct scans;
- release, recover, accelerate, or guarantee a parcel.
Use USTracking as a monitoring and interpretation companion, not as a substitute for Australia Post, StarTrack, MyPost, the sender, merchant, customs authority, overseas postal operator, Post Office, Parcel Locker, or Ombudsman.

Scope and limitations
- This page explains Australia Post parcels, selected tracked-mail context, MyPost, Safe Drop, Parcel Locker, Parcel Collect, Post Office collection, international handoffs, proof, claims, and StarTrack classification. It does not diagnose an individual shipment.
- The 11Tracking form is intended for one supported Australia Post-associated tracking number. It does not automatically accept Parcel Locker access codes, QR codes, Australia Post Customer Numbers, MyPost accounts, complaint references, customs references, names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, photos, signatures, or every StarTrack identifier.
- Australia Post, StarTrack, and StarTrack Courier can be separate runtime providers.
- A recognised number, label, manifest, Pending event, or sender-preparing event does not prove Australia Post possession.
- Sender Parcel Locker drop-off is not formal lodgement until Australia Post collects the suitable parcel under the current terms.
- Tracking is event-based and is not guaranteed always accurate, current, or live.
Onboard for deliveryis a delivery plan, not an unconditional same-day guarantee.- A two-hour window is an estimate.
- Redirect and Safe Drop depend on MyPost matching, sender permission, product, stage, address, and driver assessment.
- A Safe Drop request or preference does not prove the parcel was left there.
- A standard Parcel Locker period is two business days; Post Office and PO Box Locker workflows use different periods.
- A Parcel Locker address does not guarantee a compartment.
Awaiting collectiondoes not prove notification delivery or collection.- Secure access-code use, signature, scan, or photograph does not automatically prove named-addressee identity or every disputed fact.
- Delivered can mean mailbox, PO Box, Parcel Locker, safe location, or delivery to a person with apparent authority.
- Express Post next-business-day guarantee is conditional and does not apply to sender Parcel Locker lodgement.
- International tracking depends on overseas postal organisations, customs, quarantine, destination operators, and technical availability.
- Late-item thresholds are enquiry gates, not declarations of loss.
- Included compensation, Extra Cover, claim rights, deadlines, and evidence are product-specific and conditional.
- Merchant refund and Australia Post compensation are separate.
- The Postal Industry Ombudsman is an escalation route after a complaint to the postal operator, not the first tracking-help contact.
- Australia Post products, terms, tracking language, MyPost functions, collection periods, delivery estimates, compensation, international service, and official links can change.
- 11Tracking and USTracking are not Australia Post, StarTrack, MyPost, a Post Office, Parcel Locker, customs authority, overseas operator, merchant, or complaint channel and cannot act on the physical item.
- Verify high-stakes collection deadlines, redirect eligibility, Safe Drop, Express guarantee, claim periods, compensation, customs action, and Ombudsman procedure through the current official source before acting.

After you track a parcel, its number is added to the page address so the result can be refreshed or shared. Anyone with that link can use the number, so share it only with people you trust.
