POSTEN NORGE / BRING PACKAGE TRACKING

Posten Norge / Bring Tracking: Statuses, Pakkeboks, Customs, and Claims

Track one supported Posten or Bring shipment identifier. A recognised record can confirm that shipment data exists, but PRE_NOTIFIED or EDI does not prove physical handover. HANDED_IN, terminal processing, last-mile transport, attempted delivery, pickup readiness, Pakkeboks access, delivery, return, customs, and a claim are separate evidence stages.

Spaces and dashes are accepted.

Independent tracking lookup. 11Tracking is not Posten, Bring, Posten Bring AS, PostNord, Pakkeboks, Mybring, PostenID, DHL, or a destination operator and cannot manage a delivery. Enter one supported Posten or Bring item, parcel, shipment number, or verified shipment-specific sender reference. Mobile phone numbers, merchant orders, account or customer numbers, pickup codes, Pakkeboks credentials, PostenID data, customs, claim, payment, and proof references are not available on this form.

Enter one supported Posten or Bring item number, parcel number, shipment number, or verified shipment-specific sender reference.

A recognised tracking record means that electronic or physical shipment information exists. It does not by itself prove that Posten or Bring physically has the item. PRE_NOTIFIED, sender booking, label creation, locker deposit, HANDED_IN, terminal processing, line-haul transport, last-mile loading, attempted delivery, pickup readiness, collection, delivery, return, customs processing, and a claim are separate evidence stages.

Use Posten Norge / Bring as the query-facing public carrier identity. The current parent company is Posten Bring AS. The former parent-company name Posten Norge AS changed to Posten Bring AS in June 2023, while the consumer brand Posten and the business brand Bring remained in use.

Official brand positioning distinguishes:

  • Posten — services for private customers in Norway;
  • Bring — Nordic business logistics and services for private customers outside Norway;
  • Posten Bring AS — the parent company and legal group identity.

Posten and Bring share terminals, technology, apps, tracking infrastructure, pickup networks, support systems, and group ownership. They are not automatically one product, one contract, one tracking-number family, or one private runtime provider.

Do not enter a merchant order, invoice, Mybring account number, customer number, phone number, e-mail address, full address, postcode, pickup code, Pakkeboks access credential, PostenID data, signature, proof image, customs reference, payment reference, claim reference, insurance reference, or identity document into the public tracking form.

11Tracking is not Posten, Bring, Posten Bring AS, the sender, merchant, freight payer, Post Office, Post in Shop, Pakkeboks operator, Mybring, PostenID, customs authority, destination operator, DHL, claims team, or insurer. It cannot change delivery, stop a shipment, open Pakkeboks, retrieve a pickup code, access a signature or photograph, submit customs documents, pay charges, release the item, file a complaint or claim, recover the parcel, decide liability, approve compensation, or issue a merchant refund.

Posten Norge / Bring tracking at a glance

  • Enter: One supported item, parcel, shipment number, or verified shipment-specific sender reference.
  • Do not enter: A mobile number, merchant order, account number, pickup code, Pakkeboks credential, proof reference, customs reference, or claim number.
  • Common number families: 13 characters in a two-letter + nine-digit + two-letter structure, 18 digits beginning with 3, and 17 digits beginning with 7.
  • Format warning: These are common official families, not a universal Posten or Bring regular expression.
  • Official Bring tracker: Can also search by sender reference or mobile phone number. 11Tracking should not collect a phone number.
  • PRE_NOTIFIED: Bring received EDI shipment data. Physical handover is not proved.
  • Booking or label: A transport record exists. Pickup is not proved.
  • HANDED_IN: Physical handover to Bring is recorded.
  • Sender Pakkeboks deposit: In the scoped Norgespakke large branch, handover requires parcel placement, hatch closure, and registration confirmation; an empty locker found later can negate the handover conclusion.
  • TERMINAL: The item was registered or arrived at a storage terminal. The terminal is not a public pickup point.
  • IN_TRANSIT: Network transport exists. Between-terminal updates can be absent for one to four days.
  • DEVIATION: A production deviation exists and delay is possible. The generic status does not identify one universal cause.
  • TRANSPORT_TO_RECIPIENT: The package was loaded for last-mile delivery. Exact GPS and same-day completion are not guaranteed.
  • ATTEMPTED_DELIVERY: Delivery did not complete. The product determines whether there is another attempt or pickup-point routing.
  • READY_FOR_PICKUP: The item reached the stated pickup point.
  • NOTIFICATION_SENT: A message was issued. Receipt, reading, and action are not proved.
  • Delivery management: Ordered, changed, and cancelled home-delivery states are separate from physical route execution.
  • Pickup deadlines: Current official branches include seven days, three weeks, selected fourteen-day exceptions, and an eligible seven-to-fourteen-day extension.
  • Pakkeboks: Uses the Posten app in the current workflow; the ordinary seven-to-fourteen-day extension does not apply.
  • Pickup code: A private release credential, not a tracking number.
  • Proof: Signatures, names, addresses, pickup codes, and photographs can be private authenticated data.
  • DELIVERED: Carrier completion is recorded. Named-recipient receipt, correct contents, condition, and continued possession are not automatically proved.
  • RETURN: The item is moving back.
  • DELIVERED_SENDER: Return delivery to the sender is recorded. Merchant refund or replacement is not proved.
  • International: Original and new partner identifiers can coexist.
  • CUSTOMS: Import or export clearance processing exists. Payment does not prove release.
  • Claims: Posten consumer and Bring commercial claims use different actors, evidence, deadlines, and compensation rules.
  • Privacy: Tracking numbers, sender references, phone numbers, pickup codes, addresses, signatures, photographs, customs information, and claim evidence have different sensitivity levels.

Track one supported Posten or Bring identifier

Use an identifier shown on:

  • shipping label;
  • mailing receipt;
  • sender dispatch notice;
  • merchant shipping notice;
  • Posten app;
  • official Posten tracking page;
  • official Bring tracking page;
  • Mybring shipment record;
  • pickup notification;
  • return instruction.

Which common number formats are officially documented?

Bring’s current public tracking guidance describes common item or parcel numbers as:

  • 13 characters: two letters + nine digits + two letters;
  • 18 digits: beginning with 3;
  • 17 digits: beginning with 7.

Examples from current official material include:

CS111111111NO
370733344455566677

Are these universal formats?

No.

The documented families do not necessarily cover:

  • sender references;
  • freight references;
  • same-day courier jobs;
  • QuickPack;
  • partner identifiers;
  • destination-country identifiers;
  • returns;
  • internal shipment references;
  • relabelled international items.

Do not publish or enforce one universal Posten/Bring regular expression unless the current runtime provider and official product evidence prove it.

Can I use a sender reference?

The official Bring tracker supports a sender’s reference.

Runtime support still requires verification because a sender reference can be:

  • internal;
  • reused;
  • non-unique;
  • linked to several shipments;
  • rejected outside the sender’s account context.

Can I track with a mobile phone number?

The official Bring tracker says a mobile phone number can be used.

11Tracking should not reproduce this input path because a phone number is personal data and can expose several contact-linked shipments.

Can I enter a merchant order or invoice?

Not automatically.

A merchant order or invoice proves a commercial transaction. It does not prove:

  • Posten or Bring is the carrier;
  • a transport label exists;
  • the sender handed over the item;
  • one order equals one parcel;
  • the reference is publicly searchable.

Can I enter a pickup code?

No.

A pickup code is a private collection credential. Bring deliberately removed pickup codes from the open Tracking API for security.

Posten, Bring, and Posten Bring AS

Current parent company

The current parent legal identity is:

Posten Bring AS

Historical Posten Norge AS name

The parent company changed its name from Posten Norge AS to Posten Bring AS in June 2023.

“Posten Norge” remains useful query language and a familiar carrier name, but it should not be presented as the current parent-company legal name.

Posten brand

Posten is the consumer-facing brand for private customers in Norway.

Bring brand

Bring is the group’s business logistics brand for the Nordic market and private customers outside Norway.

One group, two public brands

Posten Bring AS
→ parent legal entity

Posten
→ Norwegian consumer brand

Bring
→ Nordic business and external-market brand

Why one merged page?

The two brands share:

  • terminals;
  • tracking technology;
  • apps;
  • pickup locations;
  • parcel lockers;
  • support systems;
  • international handoffs;
  • customs-processing infrastructure;
  • legal group ownership.

Separate pages would duplicate the same status, pickup, privacy, international, and customs explanations while risking cannibalization.

Why the runtime still needs verification

The private tracking provider may expose:

  • Posten Norge;
  • Norway Post;
  • Posten;
  • Bring;
  • Posten Bring;
  • Bring Express;
  • separate origin or destination carriers.

Shared group identity does not prove these are one provider record.

Official tracking surfaces and account layers

Posten public tracking

Posten’s public consumer tracker uses a shipment or parcel number.

Bring public tracking

Bring’s tracker supports:

  • item or parcel number;
  • sender reference;
  • mobile phone number.

Mybring

Mybring provides authenticated business functions such as:

  • broad shipment tracking;
  • delivery changes;
  • address changes;
  • stop or return requests;
  • proof;
  • reports;
  • documents;
  • private shipment data.

Mybring account credentials are not tracking inputs.

Posten app

The Posten app can support:

  • tracking Posten and Bring items;
  • pickup-location information;
  • pickup access;
  • Pakkeboks opening;
  • sharing pickup access;
  • eligible deadline extensions;
  • home-delivery ordering;
  • supported returns.

PostenID

PostenID is an authentication and identity service.

It is not the carrier or shipment number.

Tracking number, sender reference, and linked identifiers

QuickPack and DHL

Current QuickPack terms say DHL is often used for onward transport and a new tracking number can be assigned.

Prime Express arrival in Norway

Current Posten guidance says Prime Express items from abroad can receive a unique tracking chip on arrival in Norway.

Linked-identifier evidence

original identifier
→ new Posten/Bring or partner identifier
→ first operator-attributed event

A new number confirms an identifier relationship. It does not prove the next operator physically has the parcel until a custody event appears.

From electronic data to final outcome

What would change the conclusion?

  • EDI becomes carrier possession after HANDED_IN, pickup, terminal receipt, or another verified physical event.
  • A planned pickup point becomes actual readiness after READY_FOR_PICKUP.
  • A requested delivery change becomes operationally meaningful after a changed destination or route event.
  • Attempted delivery becomes collection only after a pickup notification and collection event.
  • A customs payment becomes release only after a release or onward-transport event.
  • A return becomes sender receipt only after DELIVERED_SENDER.
  • A claim becomes compensation only after liability and payment are accepted.

`PRE_NOTIFIED`, booking, and physical handover

What does PRE_NOTIFIED mean?

The official Tracking API defines it as:

EDI message for the package has been received by Bring.

PRE_NOTIFIED
→ electronic shipment data exists
≠ sender handed over the item

Booking

A pickup booking proves a collection request.

It does not prove:

  • driver arrival;
  • parcel availability;
  • successful pickup;
  • terminal receipt.

Label or EDI

A label or EDI record can exist before the physical item is ready.

HANDED_IN

The official API describes HANDED_IN as:

Package has been handed in to Bring.

This is the central generic physical-handover milestone.

Pickup confirmation

Some product terms provide a pickup confirmation in the sender’s tracking interface.

Physical handover does not inspect the purchase

No handover event proves:

  • correct goods;
  • correct quantity;
  • adequate packaging;
  • declared value;
  • absence of hidden damage;
  • merchant legitimacy.

Use Label Created and Carrier Received Package for the broader evidence model.

Sender deposit in Pakkeboks

Scoped Norgespakke large rule

Current Norgespakke large terms describe a specific handover rule.

Posten’s responsibility begins after:

  1. the parcel is placed in the locker;
  2. the hatch is closed;
  3. the sender receives confirmation that the delivery was registered.

Empty-locker exception

If the courier later arrives and finds the reserved locker empty, the same terms treat the item as not handed in.

Evidence ladder

slot reserved
→ sender can deposit
≠ parcel deposited

parcel placed
+ hatch closed
+ registration confirmed
→ scoped handover milestone

courier finds parcel
→ physical collection confirmed

courier finds empty locker
→ scoped handover is treated as incomplete

Scope limit

Do not generalize this exact liability rule to:

  • all Bring products;
  • business returns;
  • international lockers;
  • third-party lockers;
  • all Pakkeboks services.

Official Posten / Bring status meanings

The current official Bring Tracking API defines these public status groups:

  • ATTEMPTED_DELIVERY
  • CUSTOMS
  • COLLECTED
  • DELIVERED
  • DELIVERED_SENDER
  • DELIVERY_CANCELLED
  • DELIVERY_CHANGED
  • DELIVERY_ORDERED
  • DEVIATION
  • HANDED_IN
  • INTERNATIONAL
  • IN_TRANSIT
  • NOTIFICATION_SENT
  • PRE_NOTIFIED
  • READY_FOR_PICKUP
  • RETURN
  • TRANSPORT_TO_RECIPIENT
  • TERMINAL
  • UNKNOWN

Removed statuses

The API removed:

  • ARRIVED_COLLECTION
  • ARRIVED_DELIVERY

Do not build current public logic around these obsolete values.

TERMINAL

The item was registered or arrived at an inbound or outbound storage terminal.

Posten explicitly says a terminal is not a public pickup location.

IN_TRANSIT

The item is moving through the network.

There can be no public update between terminals for one to four days.

INTERNATIONAL

The item was sent from the origin country or arrived in the destination country.

Country, direction, and publishing operator determine the meaning.

TRANSPORT_TO_RECIPIENT

The package was loaded for delivery to the recipient.

TRANSPORT_TO_RECIPIENT
→ last-mile loading exists
≠ exact GPS
≠ guaranteed delivery today

ATTEMPTED_DELIVERY

Delivery was attempted at the door.

Depending on the service, the next step can be:

  • another attempt;
  • movement to the nearest pickup point.

READY_FOR_PICKUP

The item reached the pickup point.

This is stronger readiness evidence than an attempt or planned pickup location.

NOTIFICATION_SENT

A notification was sent by:

  • SMS;
  • push;
  • e-mail;
  • physical mail.

It can be informational, a pickup notice, or an action request.

NOTIFICATION_SENT
→ message issued
≠ correct recipient received
≠ message opened
≠ recipient acted

DELIVERY_ORDERED

Home delivery was ordered.

DELIVERY_CHANGED

The customer changed the home-delivery date.

DELIVERY_CANCELLED

The customer cancelled the home-delivery order.

This does not necessarily cancel the whole shipment.

DEVIATION

A production deviation occurred and delay is possible.

The generic status does not identify:

  • address problem;
  • weather;
  • damage;
  • loss;
  • customs;
  • vehicle;
  • capacity;
  • refusal;
  • safety issue.

CUSTOMS

The parcel is in customs clearance.

RETURN

The parcel is moving back to the sender.

DELIVERED_SENDER

The returned item was delivered to the sender.

COLLECTED

The parcel was collected at the pickup address.

The collector’s identity depends on product and authenticated proof.

DELIVERED

Carrier completion is recorded.

UNKNOWN

The event is undefined.

Do not force it into a confident public diagnosis.

Tracking gaps between terminals

Why can tracking stop for several days?

Posten says no new tracking information is provided while the shipment moves between terminals.

The gap can last:

  • one day;
  • two days;
  • three days;
  • four days;

depending on route and transport mode.

Does the last terminal event mean the parcel is still there?

Not necessarily.

last event at terminal
→ latest published processing event
≠ exact current location
≠ no physical movement

Can I collect from the terminal?

No. Posten states that terminals are not pickup points.

What normally happens next?

Posten says an item is normally:

  • forwarded for delivery the same day; or
  • made available at a pickup point the next day.

This is operational guidance, not a universal guarantee.

Use Tracking Not Updating for the broader interpretation model.

Delivery estimates and lead time

Product-specific examples

Current Posten tracking guidance gives examples such as:

  • Norgespakke and pickup parcel: normally two to five business days;
  • Business Parcel: one to four business days;
  • Business Parcel Express: one day to most places.

Other products publish different estimates.

Terminal-based calculation

Bring developer guidance says lead time is calculated from the day and time the parcel arrives at a Bring terminal.

Estimated delivery window

The Tracking API can expose an estimated arrival window for supported shipments.

Estimate is not a guarantee

estimated date or window
→ current route calculation
≠ guaranteed appointment

What can change the estimate?

  • route;
  • terminal arrival;
  • transport method;
  • weather;
  • capacity;
  • peak volume;
  • address quality;
  • pickup-point capacity;
  • recipient change;
  • sender change;
  • customs;
  • product;
  • international partner.

Product-family boundaries

Norgespakke small

Current consumer service includes tracking and product-specific handover, delivery, and compensation rules.

Norgespakke large

Current service includes:

  • tracking;
  • pickup-location or delivery routing;
  • explicit Pakkeboks handover rules;
  • product-specific claim and compensation terms.

Norgespakke express

Current terms include a scoped time guarantee and separate liability maximum.

Norgespakke same day

Current terms include:

  • courier pickup;
  • sender tracking confirmation;
  • recipient-selected outside-door delivery;
  • product-specific responsibility.

Bring Pick-up parcel

Current business-to-consumer service can include:

  • pickup point or parcel locker;
  • tracking;
  • digital identity;
  • recipient delivery options;
  • product-specific estimate.

Parcel home plus

Current service includes home delivery, notification, and recipient management.

Home mailbox parcel

Current terms distinguish:

  • mailbox delivery;
  • outside-door delivery;
  • pickup-point fallback;
  • sender reservation against recipient changes;
  • barcode scan as delivery evidence.

Business Parcel

Current service includes:

  • business delivery;
  • two attempts;
  • address changes before operational cutoffs;
  • stop or return requests;
  • simplified delivery;
  • pickup-point fallback;
  • multi-parcel shipments.

Business Parcel Express

Current service uses a separate express business branch.

Same-day courier limitation

Official Bring tracking guidance says ordinary public tracking is unavailable for same-day delivery or courier mailing items.

Users are directed to Bring Express.

11Tracking must not promise ordinary tracking for every same-day job.

Last-mile delivery and attempt rules

TRANSPORT_TO_RECIPIENT

The parcel was loaded for delivery.

This does not provide exact driver location or guarantee completion that day.

API-level attempted-delivery rule

The official API says the next action depends on service:

  • another attempt;
  • closest pickup point.

Business Parcel

Current Business Parcel guidance states:

  • two attempts;
  • automatic second attempt;
  • additional charge;
  • optional pickup-point fallback under specific EDI conditions.

Home-delivery terms

Current service-specific conditions state that:

  • failed attempts are scanned as deviations;
  • Bring contacts the business customer by the next working day;
  • the customer decides whether another attempt should be made;
  • additional attempts are charged.

No universal attempt count

Bring delivery
≠ always one attempt
≠ always two attempts
≠ always automatic retry

Attempt does not prove recipient fault

Possible causes include:

  • no recipient contact;
  • recipient unavailable;
  • refusal;
  • wrong or incomplete address;
  • unsafe access;
  • road conditions;
  • identity requirement;
  • business closure;
  • product restriction.

Use Delivery Attempted for general guidance.

Delivery ordered, changed, stopped, or cancelled

Recipient home-delivery states

The official event model distinguishes:

  • DELIVERY_ORDERED;
  • DELIVERY_CHANGED;
  • DELIVERY_CANCELLED.

Mybring stop or return

Current Business Parcel guidance allows an account holder to request stop or return through Mybring.

A fee can apply even when Bring cannot stop the shipment.

Address change cutoff

Current guidance allows address changes before:

  • loading for door delivery or parcel locker;
  • arrival at a serviced pickup point.

Sender restrictions

The sender can reserve against recipient-initiated delivery changes.

Request state model

option shown
→ item may be eligible

request submitted
→ instruction exists

DELIVERY_CHANGED or new destination event
→ operational change recorded

DELIVERY_CANCELLED
→ home-delivery order cancelled
≠ whole shipment cancelled

11Tracking limitation

11Tracking cannot submit, cancel, or verify a private delivery change.

Pickup points and collection objects

Current Norwegian collection objects include:

  • Post Office;
  • Post in Shop;
  • dedicated pickup location;
  • Pakkeboks;
  • country mail carrier route;
  • another product-specific service point.

Collection object is not the carrier

A Post Office, shop, locker, or service point is a delivery or pickup location.

Expected pickup point

The Tracking API can show an expected pickup point before the parcel arrives.

expected pickup point
→ planned collection object
≠ item ready there

Actual readiness

READY_FOR_PICKUP and the item-specific notice are stronger evidence.

Pickup deadlines and extensions

Seven-day branch

Current Posten guidance uses seven days for most pickup-location parcels.

Three-week branch

Current guidance uses three weeks for:

  • oversized letters;
  • registered letters;
  • insured letters;
  • poste restante;
  • other stated letter products.

Fourteen-day exceptions

Selected parcels can use fourteen-day branches, including certain physical-notice or inbound cases.

Seven-to-fourteen-day extension

Eligible seven-day items can be extended to fourteen days:

  • free;
  • through the Posten app or SMS;
  • subject to sender permission.

Pakkeboks exclusion

The seven-to-fourteen-day extension does not apply to Pakkeboks.

Seasonal adjustments

Posten can publish temporary changes around:

  • Easter;
  • July;
  • December.

These are volatile.

Customs-document deadline

An inbound shipment waiting for missing customs documents can use a separate fourteen-day response deadline.

Deadline evidence model

general product rule
→ default period

item notification
→ actual deadline

extension requested
→ action exists
≠ extension confirmed

Use the exact current item notice.

Pakkeboks

What is Pakkeboks?

Pakkeboks is Posten’s self-service parcel-locker network.

It is not a separate carrier.

How is the hatch opened?

Current public guidance requires the Posten app.

Notification stages

The app can notify the recipient:

  • while the parcel is on its way;
  • when it is ready for pickup.

Can another person collect?

The app’s sharing function can allow another person to collect.

Returns

The app can reserve and open a return slot for supported merchant returns.

Pickup-code privacy

Bring removed pickup codes from the open Tracking API for security.

Authenticated systems can still hold them.

tracking identifier
→ public route lookup

app access or pickup code
→ private locker release

Can the deadline be extended?

The ordinary seven-to-fourteen-day extension does not apply to Pakkeboks.

Identity and mandates

When is identity required?

Identity can be required for:

  • registered mail;
  • insured mail;
  • value consignments;
  • selected parcels;
  • personal pickup.

Can another person collect?

Some items allow collection through a mandate.

The delegated person can need:

  • valid mandate;
  • original identity document;
  • eligible product;
  • supporting information.

Personal collection

Some products can be released only to the named addressee.

Posten discretion

Posten can refuse delegated collection if entitlement is not sufficiently established.

Private data

Never publish:

  • identity number;
  • ID copy;
  • mandate;
  • signature;
  • address proof;
  • PostenID information.

Notifications

What does NOTIFICATION_SENT prove?

It proves a notification was issued.

Channels

  • SMS;
  • push;
  • e-mail;
  • letter.

Contact-data dependency

Electronic notification depends on the sender providing correct phone or e-mail information and selecting the service.

Wrong-recipient notification

A message can reach the wrong person when the sender supplied incorrect contact data.

Notification is not collection

notification sent
≠ correct recipient received
≠ message read
≠ parcel collected

Mailbox and unattended delivery

Simplified delivery

Current Bring Business Parcel guidance describes a sender-ordered service in which the item can be left at the recipient’s location without anyone present.

The driver registers it as delivered.

Recipient-directed unattended delivery

Current home-delivery terms can allow the recipient to choose unattended placement and accept the conditions.

Safety and access

Bring decides at delivery whether the location is:

  • accessible;
  • suitable;
  • safe.

Sender restriction

The sender can block unattended delivery with:

  • reservation against unattended placement;
  • identity requirement;
  • signature or presence requirement;
  • another product condition.

Home mailbox parcel

Current terms distinguish:

  • mailbox delivery;
  • outside-door fallback;
  • pickup-location fallback;
  • recipient choice;
  • sender reservation.

Evidence

A system event or photograph can document placement.

unattended delivery event or photo
→ route-specific placement evidence
≠ named recipient received
≠ correct contents
≠ continued possession

Proof, signatures, pickup codes, and photographs

Public tracking boundary

Public tracking should expose safe event data only.

Authenticated Tracking API

Official documentation says authenticated responses can include:

  • price;
  • name;
  • address;
  • signatures.

Pickup-code suppression

The open API hides pickup codes.

Flex image removal

Bring removed flex-delivery images from the Tracking API in September 2025 because photographs are personal information.

A sender can request an image through Mybring, and the request is logged.

Possible proof objects

  • signature;
  • digital identity;
  • pickup event;
  • system delivery event;
  • unattended-delivery photo;
  • signed consignment note;
  • identity verification;
  • collection record.

Public proof limits

proof exists
≠ anonymous public download
≠ named buyer universally identified
≠ 11Tracking can retrieve it

Sensitive fields

Suppress:

  • name;
  • address;
  • signature;
  • pickup code;
  • photograph;
  • identity data;
  • customer number;
  • price;
  • goods information.

Delivered but not received

What DELIVERED proves

DELIVERED
→ carrier completion recorded
≠ named buyer personally received
≠ correct contents
≠ condition
≠ continued possession

Check the delivery object

Possible completion objects include:

  • recipient;
  • household member;
  • business employee;
  • mailbox;
  • outside door;
  • safe location;
  • Pakkeboks;
  • Post Office;
  • Post in Shop;
  • pickup point;
  • sender after return.

Check the product and proof

Determine whether the item used:

  • signature;
  • digital ID;
  • unattended delivery;
  • pickup;
  • photograph;
  • mailbox scan;
  • return delivery.

Action sequence

  1. Review the raw event and product.
  2. Check mailbox, outside door, agreed location, household, reception, mailroom, and business staff.
  3. Check the Posten app, pickup location, and linked identifiers.
  4. Ask the sender for authenticated proof when available.
  5. Preserve the tracking record, notice, and any photograph.
  6. Contact the sender and the correct Posten or Bring support route.
  7. Preserve merchant, marketplace, and payment deadlines.

Use Delivered but Not Received for the broader recovery process.

Partial delivery and business freight

Multi-parcel shipments

Bring business services can contain several parcels or freight units.

Partial delivery

Current home-delivery terms allow the recipient to accept undamaged parts when other packages are missing or damaged, with the deviation recorded on delivery acknowledgement.

One delivery event is not always complete evidence

shipment delivered
→ grouping-level completion may exist
≠ every parcel or freight unit proved

Preserve evidence

Keep privately:

  • waybill;
  • shipment number;
  • every parcel number;
  • piece count;
  • deviation scans;
  • delivery acknowledgement;
  • packaging;
  • photographs;
  • invoice;
  • actual weight.

Returns

Merchant process comes first

The customer follows the seller’s return instructions.

Return label creation

A business can create a return address card through EDI or Mybring.

return label created
→ reverse data exists
≠ item handed over

Return handover options

Supported workflows can include:

  • Post Office;
  • Post in Shop;
  • Pakkeboks through the Posten app;
  • driver pickup.

Reverse possession

A pickup, HANDED_IN, locker collection, or terminal event is stronger evidence that Bring has the return.

Reverse tracking

Current Return Business Parcel guidance says the business and customer can track the return.

Merchant receipt is not refund

return authorised
→ label/reference
→ customer handover
→ carrier pickup
→ reverse transit
→ business receipt
→ inspection
→ merchant remedy

Return delivery does not prove:

  • refund approval;
  • exchange;
  • replacement;
  • payment completed.

International tracking and linked identifiers

Tracking can be limited outside Norway

Visibility can depend on:

  • product;
  • transport method;
  • destination-country system;
  • destination operator;
  • partner integration.

Registered letters abroad

Current Posten guidance says a registered letter can be tracked from posting until it leaves Norway.

The item can continue toward the destination without further Posten public events.

Parcels abroad

Parcels can be tracked in most European countries and selected other countries.

Business Parcels

Business Parcels can provide stronger international tracking in supported routes.

QuickPack

QuickPack can be forwarded by DHL and receive a new tracking number.

Prime Express

Prime Express can receive a new Norwegian tracking chip on arrival for domestic last-mile tracking.

Operator chain

origin operator
→ Posten or Bring
→ customs or transit operator
→ DHL or destination operator

New identifier does not prove handoff

Preserve:

  • original number;
  • new number;
  • operator;
  • country;
  • relationship;
  • first event under the new number.

Use Find the Last-Mile Carrier when the active operator is unclear.

Customs and import processing

What does CUSTOMS mean?

The official API defines it as customs-clearance processing.

What does “stopped for import processing” mean?

Posten explains that:

  • the shipment is with Posten for import processing;
  • Posten assesses whether it is duty-free or needs clearance;
  • missing documents trigger an SMS or letter;
  • a new notice is issued when the item is ready for pickup.

Is Norwegian Customs physically storing the parcel?

Not in the described Posten import branch.

Posten states that Norwegian Customs does not store these shipments. Posten stores and processes the item under its customs role, while Norwegian Customs remains the public authority.

Customs evidence ladder

electronic import data
→ physical arrival
→ Posten import processing
→ missing documents requested
→ documents submitted
→ assessment
→ payment or fee
→ clearance/release
→ onward transport
→ pickup or delivery

Payment is not release

payment made
≠ import processing complete
≠ parcel ready for pickup

Missing documents

Current pickup-deadline guidance uses a separate fourteen-day response period before return.

Unwanted inbound item

Current international guidance says an unwanted item can be returned after two weeks without pickup.

Private customs data

Posten customs processing can involve:

  • name;
  • address;
  • phone;
  • e-mail;
  • identity information in special cases;
  • goods description;
  • invoice;
  • value;
  • payment.

11Tracking should not collect these fields.

Use Customs Processing and Package Stuck in Customs for broader guidance.

Complaints and claims

Posten consumer complaint route

Posten accepts complaints through:

  • customer service;
  • Post Office;
  • Post in Shop;
  • mail;
  • verbal or written channels.

Usual sender role

Current public guidance says the sender should usually submit complaints for missing mail or damage to letters, parcels, or goods.

Product-specific exceptions

Current Norgespakke small, large, and express terms distinguish:

  • loss claim → sender;
  • damage claim → recipient.

The exact product controls.

Bring commercial claim actor

Current Bring claims guidance says the claim must be submitted by:

  • sender; or
  • party paying the freight.

A recipient should contact the sender or seller.

Current Bring timing branches

  • visible damage or shortage → report immediately;
  • concealed damage or shortage → within seven calendar days;
  • other issues → within fourteen days after delivery;
  • all claims → expire after one year.

Evidence

Bring currently requests evidence such as:

  • waybill, shipment, or parcel number;
  • description;
  • claimed amount excluding VAT;
  • commercial or purchase invoice;
  • actual weight;
  • photos of outer packaging;
  • photos of inner packaging;
  • photos of the item and damage;
  • preservation of damaged goods.

Formal review is not compensation

complaint or claim submitted
→ formal review exists
≠ carrier fault accepted
≠ compensation approved

Compensation boundaries

No universal Posten / Bring amount

Current products use different limits and formulas.

Examples in current reviewed terms include:

  • Norgespakke small;
  • Norgespakke large;
  • Norgespakke express;
  • Norgespakke same day;
  • registered items;
  • insured items;
  • international parcels;
  • Bring commercial freight;
  • separate insurance.

Why the article does not publish one amount

Compensation can depend on:

  • product;
  • sender contract;
  • claimant;
  • loss or damage;
  • timing;
  • packaging;
  • proof of value;
  • weight;
  • prohibited contents;
  • unattended delivery;
  • transport law;
  • international convention.

Published maximum is not settlement

published maximum
≠ automatic payment

claim submitted
≠ liability accepted

Sender-centered payment

Current general Posten terms say damages are paid to the sender unless the addressee received the item or the sender waives damages in favour of the addressee.

Insurance change

Current Bring Business Parcel material states that a previous additional-insurance service was discontinued for the stated products on July 1, 2026.

This is highly volatile and must not be generalized.

Privacy and secure tracking

Public form

The public tracking form should request only:

  • one supported shipment-specific identifier.

Never enter these into a public tracker

  • mobile phone number;
  • e-mail address;
  • recipient name;
  • full address;
  • postcode;
  • account or customer number;
  • Mybring credentials;
  • PostenID data;
  • pickup code;
  • Pakkeboks access data;
  • signature;
  • proof photograph;
  • goods description;
  • value;
  • customs document;
  • payment data;
  • claim evidence;
  • identity document.

Treat tracking numbers as private shipment data

A tracking record can reveal:

  • route;
  • terminal;
  • pickup point;
  • delivery address region;
  • contact-linked notification;
  • return;
  • customs;
  • proof availability.

Do not publish it in:

  • URL;
  • metadata;
  • JSON-LD;
  • analytics;
  • screenshots;
  • public reviews;
  • forums;
  • unnecessary AI prompts.

API credentials

Bring’s Tracking API requires authenticated access.

Production credentials must remain server-side.

Never expose:

  • Mybring user ID;
  • API key;
  • customer number;
  • authenticated response fields.

Sensitive authenticated fields

Authenticated responses can include:

  • name;
  • address;
  • signature;
  • price.

The public output must suppress them.

Scam and phishing safety

Shared-brand impersonation

Criminals impersonate both Posten and Bring through:

  • SMS;
  • e-mail;
  • fake delivery pages;
  • fake payment pages;
  • customs-fee messages;
  • address-correction requests;
  • pickup problems.

Safer verification sequence

  1. Do not use the unsolicited link.
  2. Open Posten or Bring independently.
  3. Use the official tracker or Posten app.
  4. Enter only the shipment identifier.
  5. Do not share a mobile-linked shipment list, pickup code, BankID, PostenID, card details, signature, or identity document.
  6. Contact the bank if payment information was exposed.
  7. Preserve the message privately.

Real tracking data is not authentication

real tracking number
≠ authentic message

correct customs context
≠ official payment page

Posten or Bring logo
≠ group-controlled domain

correct pickup location
≠ safe request for pickup code

Use Fake Delivery Message for broader safety guidance.

The app can share pickup access for supported Pakkeboks items, and some staffed pickup items allow a mandate.

When is identity required?

For registered, insured, value, personal-delivery, and selected parcel products.

What does an unattended-delivery photo prove?

Placement evidence for the route, not named-recipient receipt or correct contents.

Can the public API show a signature?

The authenticated API can contain signatures, but public output should suppress them.

What does DELIVERED prove?

Carrier completion, subject to the product and delivery object.

Does it prove the named buyer received?

No.

What does RETURN mean?

The parcel is moving back to the sender.

What does DELIVERED_SENDER mean?

The return was delivered to the sender.

Does that prove a refund?

No.

QuickPack, DHL, Prime Express, destination operators, or other partner routes can assign a linked identifier.

Does a new number prove the partner has the parcel?

No. Look for an operator-attributed event.

Why did tracking stop after leaving Norway?

The product or destination system can provide limited tracking.

What does stopped for import processing mean?

Posten is processing the shipment for customs clearance in the reviewed branch.

Is Norwegian Customs storing the parcel?

Posten says it stores and processes the parcel in that branch, while Norwegian Customs is the authority.

Does payment mean customs release?

No.

Who files a Bring commercial claim?

The sender or freight payer.

It depends on the product. Loss and damage can use different actors.

Does a compensation maximum guarantee payment?

No.

Safety

Scope, evidence, and limitations

This page is an English-language guide to Posten and Bring parcel, letter, locker, pickup-point, home-delivery, business, return, international, customs, complaint, and claim tracking. It explains the current Posten Bring AS identity, the historical Posten Norge AS name, Posten and Bring brand roles, tracking inputs, common identifier families, sender references, privacy limits, EDI pre-advice, physical handover, Pakkeboks sender-deposit evidence, official Tracking API statuses, tracking gaps, terminals, delivery estimates, product families, attempts, delivery management, pickup locations, deadlines, Pakkeboks, identity, mandates, notifications, unattended delivery, proof, delivered disputes, partial business shipments, returns, international handoffs, linked identifiers, import processing, claims, compensation, API privacy, and phishing.

It is based primarily on current official Posten, Bring, Posten Bring, and Bring Developer materials reviewed on July 27, 2026, including corporate identity pages, the public trackers, Tracking API, official test resources, current product pages, 2026 transport and service terms, pickup and Pakkeboks guidance, international and customs help, complaints, claims, privacy, and fraud guidance.

Important limitations:

  • The runtime provider code, aliases, Posten/Bring relationship, sender-reference support, common identifier families, phone-number rejection, linked identifiers, event mapping, removed statuses, expected-pickup fields, delivery-management fields, Pakkeboks fields, proof fields, return fields, customs fields, claim fields, and sensitive-field suppression must be verified during implementation.
  • Posten Bring AS is the current parent legal entity.
  • Posten Norge AS is the historical parent name.
  • Posten and Bring remain distinct brands within the same group.
  • Shared infrastructure does not guarantee one provider code or identical products.
  • Current common number families are not a universal format.
  • Bring’s official mobile-number search should not be replicated by 11Tracking.
  • Merchant orders, account numbers, pickup codes, PostenID data, customs references, and claim references are not ordinary public tracking inputs.
  • PRE_NOTIFIED is EDI data, not physical handover.
  • HANDED_IN is the generic physical-handover status.
  • The Pakkeboks sender-deposit rule is product-scoped and includes an empty-locker exception.
  • Terminals are not public pickup points.
  • One-to-four-day tracking gaps can occur between terminals.
  • Public tracking is not exact continuous GPS.
  • DEVIATION does not identify one universal cause.
  • TRANSPORT_TO_RECIPIENT does not guarantee same-day delivery.
  • Attempt behavior is product-specific.
  • Expected pickup point and actual readiness are different.
  • Seven-day, fourteen-day, and three-week pickup periods apply to different branches.
  • The ordinary seven-to-fourteen-day extension does not apply to Pakkeboks.
  • Delivery options, changes, stop, return, and cancellation are product- and cutoff-dependent.
  • Sender restrictions can block recipient changes or unattended delivery.
  • Notification sent does not prove receipt.
  • Pickup codes, names, addresses, signatures, and photographs are private.
  • A system event or photo does not universally prove named-recipient receipt, contents, or condition.
  • Delivered does not prove continued possession.
  • Return handover, carrier pickup, business receipt, inspection, and refund are separate.
  • International tracking can stop or change identifiers after handoff.
  • A new identifier does not prove physical partner possession.
  • Customs information, document submission, payment, clearance, release, and delivery are separate.
  • Posten and Bring consumer and commercial claims use different actors, evidence, deadlines, and liability rules.
  • Compensation limits are product-specific and are not automatic settlements.
  • Public events can be delayed, incomplete, normalized, corrected, grouped, or out of order.
  • 11Tracking does not diagnose a specific shipment and cannot act on it.

Last reviewed: July 27, 2026 Review due: October 25, 2026 Research decision: Ready to draft with explicit Posten, Bring, Posten Bring AS, tracking-input, identifier, pre-advice, handover, status, delivery-management, attempt, pickup, Pakkeboks, proof, return, international, customs, claim, privacy, and runtime limitations
