How to track a PostNord shipment
Use the shipment ID supplied by the sender, merchant, or PostNord notification.
On 11Tracking:
- enter one supported shipment ID;
- check whether the earliest event is only electronic information or physical receipt;
- read the exact event text, not only the broad category;
- identify the relevant market: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, or Finland;
- follow the current PostNord app or notification for pickup, locker, identity, customs, or delivery actions.
The official national PostNord trackers use the term shipment ID. PostNord also operates a shared Nordic tracking system and app, but some private app and notification functions depend on contact details, authentication, or a shipment-specific code.
Shipment ID is not the pickup code
Do not enter:
- a merchant order number;
- a Danish personal pickup code;
- a QR code;
- a locker PIN;
- a Finnish Pakettipiste code;
- an app-based locker key;
- BankID or MitID information;
- a return code unless it is also a valid shipment ID;
- a phone number or notification code.
Pickup and locker credentials can provide physical access to a parcel. They should never be entered into a public tracking form.
There is no safe universal PostNord number format
PostNord handles several shipment and product types. A public record can use a shipment ID, item ID, consignment ID, postal-style identifier, return identifier, or another service-specific reference.
Open official sources reviewed for this page do not establish one exhaustive prefix or length that covers every PostNord parcel, letter, return, pallet, international item, and historical product.
Use the complete carrier number provided by the sender rather than rejecting it solely because it does not match an unofficial format rule.
Order number versus shipment ID
A store order number belongs to the merchant. It can help the seller locate the purchase but may not work in PostNord tracking.
When the tracker rejects the number:
- confirm that you copied the carrier shipment ID;
- ask the merchant whether the parcel was physically handed over;
- request the current PostNord or partner identifier;
- do not provide a full address or identity document to an unofficial tracker.
What PostNord is
PostNord is a Nordic postal, parcel, and logistics group with operations in:
- Sweden;
- Denmark;
- Norway;
- Finland.
The group was formed from the Swedish and Danish postal operations, but it now uses the PostNord brand across four national markets.
This creates a shared tracking layer and four country-specific recipient layers.
One group does not mean one universal rule
The same shipment can move through a Nordic network and retain one tracking identity, while the final recipient workflow depends on the country.
Examples:
- Sweden can use Mobile BankID and app-based parcel lockers;
- Denmark uses a personal pickup-code model for many applicable parcels;
- Norway has its own locker-extension and freight-payer claim rules;
- Finland distinguishes Pakettipiste PIN collection from app-opened Lähiboksi lockers.
The public tracking history can be unified while collection and legal responsibilities remain national.
PostNord Denmark still delivers parcels
PostNord ended Danish letter handling at the end of 2025 and shifted its Danish operation toward parcels.
This does not mean PostNord left Denmark or stopped parcel delivery there.
PostNord Norway is not Posten or Bring
PostNord Norway is a separate operator from Posten Norge and Bring.
A PostNord shipment should not be routed to Posten or Bring support unless the live tracking record explicitly identifies one of them as a partner.
PostNord Finland is not Posti
PostNord Finland and Posti are separate companies. Use the carrier shown by the shipment record.
PostNord status categories and exact events
PostNord publishes broad status categories such as:
INFORMED;EN_ROUTE;EXPECTED_DELAY;DELAYED;STOPPED;AVAILABLE_FOR_DELIVERY;DELIVERY_IMPOSSIBLE;DELIVERY_REFUSED;DELIVERED;RETURNED;RETURNED_DELIVERED;OTHER.
These categories help group events, but the exact text usually carries the useful meaning.
Why the exact event matters
A broad category can contain events with different consequences.
| Broad category | Possible exact event | Correct interpretation |
|---|---|---|
INFORMED | Electronic shipping instruction created | Data exists; physical receipt is not confirmed |
EN_ROUTE | Item received by PostNord | Physical receipt is recorded |
EN_ROUTE | Handed over to a partner | A partner-transfer event occurred; partner acceptance still needs confirmation |
AVAILABLE_FOR_DELIVERY | Will be delivered today | Delivery is planned, not completed |
AVAILABLE_FOR_DELIVERY | Delivered to a service point | The parcel is at the pickup point, not collected |
DELIVERED | Delivered to mailbox | Mailbox completion, not personal handoff |
DELIVERED | Delivered at door | Door placement, not necessarily signature |
DELIVERED | Delivered by power of attorney | Authorised method, not direct recipient signature |
RETURNED | Returning due to service terms | Return movement, not seller refund |
When an aggregate status and exact event appear awkward together, preserve the exact wording and avoid inventing a stronger conclusion.
PostNord evidence ladder
A typical PostNord shipment can move through these evidence levels:
Electronic shipping instruction
↓
Shipping information received
↓
Sender preparing the item
↓
Drop-off or pickup
↓
Item received by PostNord
↓
Transport started
↓
Distribution terminal
↓
Left sender country
↓
Arrived in destination country
↓
Customs processing or clearance
↓
Partner handoff
↓
Destination distribution
↓
Delivery today, service-point availability, or home route
↓
Mailbox, door, signature, authorised delivery, pickup, return, or exception
Each stage confirms something different.
Electronic information does not prove physical possession
Early events can include wording equivalent to:
- electronic shipping instruction created;
- shipping information received;
- sender is preparing the item;
- shipment announced.
These events confirm a digital record. They do not confirm:
- sender drop-off;
- PostNord pickup;
- physical receipt;
- movement;
- a delivery commitment.
Which event proves PostNord received the parcel?
The official event taxonomy includes a clear event stating that the shipment item was received by PostNord.
That is stronger evidence than electronic pre-advice.
A drop-off event can also be meaningful, but a PostNord receipt scan is the clearer carrier-possession milestone.
When the sender should act
Contact the sender when:
- the handling deadline passed;
- tracking remains at electronic information;
- the seller says it shipped the item but no physical receipt event appears;
- the number was replaced;
- PostNord cannot locate a parcel it has not recorded receiving.
Ask the sender:
Which event confirms that the physical item was handed to PostNord?
In transit, terminals, and country events
Transport started
A transport-start event confirms that a movement stage began.
It does not provide:
- continuous GPS;
- the exact vehicle;
- a direct route;
- guaranteed arrival time.
Distribution terminal
An arrival at a distribution terminal can refer to an origin, regional, transit, or destination facility.
It does not automatically mean:
- out for delivery;
- pickup readiness;
- arrival at the final service point;
- customs completion.
Left the sender country
A departure-country event confirms an international movement milestone.
It does not confirm:
- arrival in the final destination country;
- a direct route;
- customs clearance;
- final-carrier possession.
Arrived in the destination country
This is stronger international evidence, but the parcel can still require:
- unloading;
- customs processing;
- national sorting;
- partner handoff;
- delivery-unit arrival.
Incorrect sorting
PostNord can publish a wrong-sort event while the broad status remains EN_ROUTE.
One corrected wrong-sort event does not prove loss or wrong address. Repeated loops, movement away from the destination, or a prolonged delay justify escalation.
Customs statuses
Customs is a sequence, not one event.
PostNord event wording can distinguish:
- being customs cleared;
- awaiting customs clearance;
- cleared by customs;
- waiting for taxes and duties;
- import documents missing;
- customs clearance refused.
Being customs cleared
This confirms customs processing.
It does not confirm release.
Cleared by customs
This confirms a customs-clearance milestone.
It does not automatically confirm:
- that all fees were paid in every case;
- warehouse exit;
- national sorting;
- service-point readiness;
- delivery.
Waiting for taxes or duties
A payment-related event can require action. Use only the official national PostNord payment surface or an identified customs authority.
A real shipment ID does not authenticate a payment link received by SMS or email.
Import documents missing
The sender, importer, recipient, customs representative, or authority may need information. The responsible actor depends on the route and market.
Customs clearance refused
This is a material exception. Do not assume the parcel will be released, destroyed, or returned without checking the exact official instructions.
Customs rules differ by country
PostNord does not have one Nordic consumer customs model.
Denmark
PostNord can act as a customs representative and collect VAT, duties, or a service fee in applicable Danish import workflows.
Use the official Danish PostNord payment page.
Finland
Current PostNord Finland consumer guidance states that PostNord does not act as the import customs agent in Finland. Import clearance must be completed before the parcel enters PostNord’s Finnish distribution network.
Do not apply Denmark's model to Finland.
Norway
Norway is outside the EU customs union. Import and transit processing can appear in PostNord tracking.
A domestic Norwegian route can also generate transit-related customs events when goods move through Sweden or Finland under current Norwegian transit-data requirements. This does not automatically mean the recipient owes import duties.
Sweden
Swedish import workflows depend on the shipment, declaration, payment request, and responsible customs channel. Follow the exact official event and current PostNord instructions.
Åland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands
Nordic geography does not always equal one customs or VAT area. Åland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and other special territories can require separate formalities.
Handed over to a partner
PostNord can publish an event stating that the shipment was handed to a partner for transportation to the final destination.
This confirms a transfer-related milestone.
It does not necessarily prove:
- the final delivery carrier;
- item-level acceptance by the partner;
- a second tracking number;
- immediate delivery;
- that PostNord no longer receives updates.
Stronger partner evidence
Look for:
- the partner's name;
- a secondary tracking ID;
- an accepted or received scan in the partner's tracker;
- a partner facility scan;
- an out-for-delivery event.
A partner acceptance scan is stronger than a generic handoff event.
Cross-Nordic shipments
A parcel can continue through another PostNord national operation with the same shipment ID. Other routes can use an external partner.
Do not assume every country transition is an external handoff.
“Will be delivered today”
A PostNord event can say that the shipment will be delivered today while the broad category is AVAILABLE_FOR_DELIVERY.
This means the delivery is planned for that day. It does not guarantee:
- exact arrival time;
- successful access;
- completed delivery;
- that the parcel will not be redirected;
- that an operational disruption cannot occur.
Delivery in progress
A delivery-in-progress event is stronger route evidence but is still not completed delivery.
Map and estimated time
Some PostNord products and markets can show a route view or detailed estimate.
Do not assume every PostNord shipment offers continuous live GPS. Availability can depend on:
- country;
- service;
- delivery mode;
- app;
- sender data;
- route stage.
Delivered to a service point
An event stating that the shipment was delivered to a service point means it reached the collection location.
It does not mean the recipient collected it.
When is the parcel ready?
Use the event and notification that identify:
- the exact service point;
- readiness;
- pickup credential;
- identification requirements;
- final collection date.
A failed attempt or redirection request is not the same as physical arrival at the point.
Collection is a separate event
PostNord can record a later handover or completed recipient collection where the product exposes it.
Do not convert point arrival into personal recipient delivery.
A confusing pickup-point event
Some exact PostNord events can say that the parcel arrived at a pickup point and the recipient was notified while the broad category is DELIVERY_IMPOSSIBLE.
Explain the exact event: home delivery did not complete, but the parcel may now be available through a pickup workflow.
Delivery impossible and failed attempts
A failed PostNord delivery can result from:
- recipient absence;
- locked entrance;
- closed business;
- recipient moved or unknown;
- missing identification;
- delivery requirements not met;
- unpaid cash-on-delivery amount;
- unavailable locker;
- oversized parcel;
- incorrect address or postcode;
- damage;
- customs or documentation problem.
Will PostNord try again?
There is no universal Nordic two-attempt rule.
One exact PostNord event states that a new attempt will be made on the next working day. Other shipments can move directly to:
- service point;
- parcel locker;
- terminal;
- sender instruction;
- return.
Follow the exact event and national notification.
Address problems
PostNord distinguishes incorrect postcode, incorrect address, incomplete address, and corrected address.
The sender can remain the party authorised to correct the contractual shipment data.
Delivered status meanings
A broad DELIVERED category does not identify one universal handover.
Delivered to mailbox
This confirms mailbox delivery.
It does not prove the named recipient personally received the parcel.
Delivered at the door
This confirms a recorded door-delivery outcome.
It does not prove:
- that the recipient was present;
- that a signature was obtained;
- that the parcel remained secure;
- that the address was correct.
Delivered by power of attorney
This records an authorised delivery method. It should not be described as direct recipient signature.
Delivered and waiting for signature
PostNord's event taxonomy includes wording that can combine a delivered category with a signature-related condition.
This is a strong reason to preserve the exact event instead of relying on the broad category alone.
Manually terminated
A manually terminated record should not be presented as normal recipient delivery without further evidence.
What delivered does not prove
A delivered event does not automatically prove:
- receipt by the named buyer;
- correct physical location;
- correct parcel contents;
- undamaged condition;
- absence of theft or misdelivery.
PostNord Sweden
Collection and identification
The exact Swedish notification determines whether identification is required.
Possible collection workflows include:
- physical ID;
- Mobile BankID verification;
- shared digital notification;
- power of attorney;
- product-specific restrictions.
Mobile BankID
An eligible recipient can verify identity in the PostNord app using Mobile BankID.
In an eligible digital-authorisation workflow, the recipient can share the pickup notification with another person.
Do not assume BankID replaces physical ID for every shipment.
Swedish parcel lockers
A compatible parcel locker can require:
- PostNord app;
- Bluetooth;
- proximity to the locker;
- phone number or email matching shipment data;
- Mobile BankID;
- app-generated opening action.
An eligible shipment can allow another person to collect through a shareable pickup link.
Why a Swedish locker parcel may be rerouted
The parcel can move to a service point when:
- the locker is full;
- the parcel is too large;
- the service is incompatible;
- the locker is unavailable;
- an operational condition prevents locker delivery.
Swedish locker holding period
Current public material and announced future terms must be read by date.
PostNord has announced a Swedish change intended from September 2026:
- standard locker period reduced to three days;
- extension in the app up to seven days;
- temporary shorter periods possible during peaks.
For a live shipment, follow the exact deadline in the PostNord app or notification. Do not rely on a generic seven-day answer.
Swedish delivery choices
An eligible shipment can offer:
- day or time choice;
- unattended delivery;
- service point;
- partner outlet;
- movement between available outlets.
The booked service controls availability.
Unattended delivery
Choosing unattended delivery can affect risk and compensation conditions. Review the exact PostNord terms before authorising it.
Attempts in Sweden
Some products can include or offer a second attempt. This is not a universal Swedish PostNord promise.
PostNord Denmark
PostNord still handles parcels
PostNord Denmark ended letter handling after 2025 but continues parcel and logistics operations.
Personal pickup code
From January 8, 2026, most applicable Danish parcel collections use a personal pickup code.
The code can arrive through:
- PostNord app;
- SMS;
- email.
It can appear as a QR code or another personal collection credential.
Do I need ID in Denmark?
The personal-code model can remove routine ID presentation for many applicable parcels.
Exceptions can include:
- insured items;
- registered items from abroad;
- shipments requiring identification or signature;
- paper or e-Boks notifications;
- another product-specific requirement.
The exact notification controls.
Can someone else collect the parcel?
Forwarding an eligible QR notification can function as authorisation.
Do not share MitID credentials, and do not assume every shipment can be delegated.
Danish parcel lockers
An applicable locker workflow can require:
- PostNord app;
- registration;
- Bluetooth;
- readiness notification.
Recipient Flex
Recipient Flex permits unattended delivery at a registered location for an eligible shipment.
Current guidance says the courier leaves the parcel at the registered place without ringing the doorbell.
MitID and delivery photo
A MitID-verified app user can receive a delivery photo for an eligible Recipient Flex delivery.
This is not universal proof for every Danish PostNord parcel.
FlexChange
An eligible user can change home delivery to a pickup location or select another Parcel Shop.
Current official wording limits changes to the period before PostNord receives the parcel. Follow the live shipment options.
Poste Restante
Poste Restante currently uses a 14-day period.
Do not apply that period to ordinary Danish Parcel Shop or locker shipments.
Danish holding periods
Current product terms can use seven days for specified parcel products. Other workflows differ.
The final date in the notification is authoritative.
Danish customs payments
PostNord can collect VAT, customs duties, and a service fee in applicable Danish workflows.
Verify payments through the official Danish PostNord site rather than an SMS link.
PostNord Norway
PostNord is not Posten or Bring
Use PostNord Norway's official tracking and support unless the live record identifies another carrier.
Norwegian parcel lockers
An applicable locker workflow uses:
- PostNord app;
- Bluetooth;
- readiness notification;
- physical proximity to the locker.
Norwegian locker holding period
Current PostNord Parcel Locker product material describes:
- return if not collected within seven days;
- extension to fourteen days without charge;
- a further seven-day extension for a fee.
The deadline shown in the app or notification should control the live parcel.
Locker full, oversized, or unsuitable
The parcel can be redirected to a staffed pickup location when the locker cannot accept it.
Home delivery
An eligible Norwegian shipment can show:
- delivery day;
- a more detailed time estimate;
- a choice of pickup point or locker.
Some products can be delivered to a mailbox or door without personal contact.
Failed delivery
A failed home delivery can lead to a pickup location identified in the notification.
Do not assume another home attempt.
Identification
Some shipments require identification. Another collector may need the recipient's and collector's identification, depending on the service.
Who files the claim in Norway?
PostNord Norway states that the freight payer is the rightful claimant.
The freight payer may be:
- the merchant;
- sender;
- account holder;
- private sender who paid PostNord directly.
The recipient can report evidence but may need the freight payer to submit the compensation claim.
Norway customs and transit
Norway is outside the EU customs union.
Current transit-data requirements can affect Norwegian goods transported domestically through Sweden or Finland. Such a tracking event does not automatically mean that the recipient owes import VAT or duties.
PostNord Finland
Pickup-point network
PostNord Finland uses:
- staffed service points;
- Pakettipiste parcel lockers;
- PostNord Lähiboksi lockers.
These are not identical workflows.
Notification
The recipient can be notified through:
- PostNord app;
- SMS;
- email;
- letter.
When the app is active, a separate SMS may not always be sent.
Pakettipiste PIN
A pickup notification can include a PIN for a staffed location or Pakettipiste workflow.
The PIN is a private collection credential, not the tracking number.
Lähiboksi
PostNord Lähiboksi opens through the PostNord app and uses an app/Bluetooth workflow rather than the same PIN model.
Finnish holding period
Current product pages often describe at least seven days, while the notification gives the final date.
Follow the shipment-specific deadline.
Home delivery
PostNord Finland says parcels are commonly delivered:
- to a mailbox;
- to the door.
Some products require recipient presence or a receipt.
Redirection
When recipient presence is required, an eligible shipment can sometimes be changed to:
- unattended door delivery;
- pickup point.
A shipment requiring receipt cannot simply be left unattended, but it may be eligible for movement to a pickup location.
Failed home delivery
When the recipient cannot be reached or the parcel cannot be left, PostNord can move it to the nearest possible pickup location.
Seller responsibility
PostNord Finland's consumer guidance repeatedly directs order changes, product-content disputes, and commercial complaints to the company that sent the goods.
Finland customs
Current PostNord Finland guidance states that PostNord does not perform import customs clearance in Finland. The shipment must be cleared before entering the Finnish PostNord distribution network.
Åland
Åland is within the EU customs territory but outside the EU VAT territory. A shipment can require tax-border formalities even when it appears domestic within Finland.
Comparing PostNord parcel lockers
| Market | Typical access method | Identity or credential | Holding-period rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sweden | PostNord app and Bluetooth | Mobile BankID or app-based authorisation in eligible workflows | Current notification controls; announced September 2026 change must be treated by date |
| Denmark | PostNord app and Bluetooth for applicable lockers | Personal pickup code or app workflow; exceptions can require ID | Product-specific; final notification controls |
| Norway | PostNord app and Bluetooth | App-based access; identification can apply by product | Current product describes seven days with extension options |
| Finland | Pakettipiste PIN or Lähiboksi app/Bluetooth | PIN for applicable point; app key for Lähiboksi | Often at least seven days; final notification controls |
Do not use one country's code or app instructions for another market.
Pickup codes, QR codes, PINs, BankID, and MitID
These credentials have different functions.
Pickup code or QR code
Used to collect an eligible parcel at a point or in a Danish code-based workflow.
PIN
Used in some Finnish pickup and locker workflows.
BankID
Used in Sweden for eligible identity and collection authorisation.
MitID
Used in Denmark for verified app features such as Recipient Flex proof.
Bluetooth
Used by compatible app-opened lockers.
Security rule
Never enter any of these into 11Tracking. Use them only in the official PostNord app, pickup location, or national website.
Why PostNord tracking may not update
Diagnose the delay from the last evidence-bearing event.
Electronic information only
The sender has not yet produced a physical-receipt event. Contact the sender after its handling promise passes.
Terminal or linehaul gap
The parcel can move between facilities without a new public event.
International gap
Departure from the sender country can be followed by transport, arrival, customs, or destination sorting before the next scan.
Customs gap
The parcel can wait for documents, payment, assessment, inspection, or release.
Partner gap
PostNord can record handoff before the partner publishes item-level acceptance.
App and web mismatch
The website can find a shipment while the app does not auto-discover it because the phone number, email, country format, account, or sender data does not match.
Enter the shipment ID manually in the official app or web tracker.
Wrong route or sorting
A single wrong-sort scan can be corrected. Repeated cycling or a material delay should be reported.
Operational disruption
Weather, road, rail, terminal, IT, and capacity disruptions can affect national delivery. Check the current national PostNord operational notices for a live case.
How long does PostNord delivery take?
There is no single Nordic answer.
Timing depends on:
- product;
- country;
- origin and destination;
- sender cutoff;
- working days;
- home delivery versus pickup;
- rural, island, ferry, or remote route;
- customs;
- partner handoff;
- recipient choices;
- failed attempt;
- operational disruption.
A displayed date or will be delivered today event should be treated as an estimate or route plan unless the specific product terms create another commitment.
Home delivery and attempts
Depending on the country and service, PostNord can deliver through:
- mailbox;
- door;
- attended handover;
- signature;
- code;
- power of attorney;
- unattended authorised location;
- reception or goods desk.
A failed attempt can lead to:
- another attempt;
- service point;
- parcel locker;
- terminal;
- recipient booking;
- sender instruction;
- return.
Do not assume a second attempt unless the exact event or product confirms it.
Delivered but not received
Start with the exact delivery event.
Check the recorded method
Determine whether the event says:
- mailbox;
- door;
- service point;
- parcel locker;
- power of attorney;
- recipient delivery;
- generic delivered;
- manual termination.
Check likely locations
Review:
- mailbox;
- entrance or doorstep;
- reception, concierge, or goods desk;
- parcel room;
- household members;
- neighbours;
- authorised unattended place;
- service point or locker notification;
- sender-provided address.
Contact sequence
- Check the official national PostNord tracker and app.
- Contact the relevant national PostNord operation for delivery detail.
- Ask the sender to confirm the address and request proof.
- Ask the freight payer or merchant to open the formal claim where required.
- Use marketplace or payment protection within its deadline when unresolved.
Do not infer from status alone
A delivered event does not by itself prove theft, fraud, driver misconduct, correct address, or personal recipient handoff.
Damage, missing contents, loss, and claims
PostNord's event taxonomy distinguishes damage, missing contents, loss, refusal, and return.
Preserve evidence
Keep:
- outer packaging;
- inner packaging;
- labels;
- seals;
- damaged goods;
- photographs;
- tracking history;
- pickup or delivery notification.
Visible damage
Refusal or immediate damage reporting can be available depending on the market and service.
Follow the exact national PostNord instructions and notify the sender promptly.
Missing contents
Tracking can record missing contents, but it cannot decide whether the cause was:
- packing error;
- transport damage;
- loss from the parcel;
- tampering;
- split shipment.
The seller should compare the order and packing evidence.
Lost shipment
PostNord's published event taxonomy includes loss events that instruct the user to contact the sender.
Preserve that routing.
Who owns the claim?
Do not assume the recipient owns the formal transport claim.
Depending on market and contract, the claimant can be:
- sender;
- merchant;
- freight payer;
- direct PostNord customer;
- account holder.
The recipient can report the facts and preserve evidence, while the sender or freight payer files the compensation claim.
Refund versus carrier compensation
These are separate:
- PostNord compensation follows transport terms;
- the merchant decides refund or replacement;
- a marketplace can apply buyer protection;
- a payment provider has its own dispute process.
Returns
A return can use a separate shipment ID, label, barcode, or merchant-provided code.
Return code is not always the original tracking number
For example, an eligible Finland return can use an address label, barcode, or eight-digit return code.
Do not assume one return workflow applies across the Nordics.
Return does not equal refund
A return event confirms movement. It does not confirm:
- seller receipt;
- inspection;
- refund approval;
- replacement;
- payment completion.
Continue following the return and contact the merchant.
Fake PostNord messages
Fraud can imitate:
- customs or VAT payment;
- failed-delivery fee;
- storage fee;
- redelivery payment;
- address confirmation;
- pickup notification;
- app login;
- BankID or MitID authentication;
- parcel-release payment.
Legitimate rules differ by market
A Danish import can involve a legitimate PostNord customs-payment workflow, while current Finnish guidance says PostNord does not perform import clearance there.
This is why the market and exact official status matter.
Verify safely
- Open the national PostNord site or app manually.
- Enter the shipment ID.
- Compare the exact event and required action.
- Check the destination market.
- Use only the official national payment or support route.
- Never authenticate BankID or MitID through an unexpected message link.
- Never share a locker PIN, QR code, or pickup code with a public tracker.
A real shipment ID does not prove the message is genuine.
Who to contact about a PostNord shipment
| Situation | First useful party | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Electronic information only | Sender or merchant | Physical PostNord receipt is not confirmed |
| Item received by PostNord but delayed | Relevant national PostNord operation; sender if contractual investigation is needed | PostNord controls transport, while sender can own the claim |
| Partner handoff without partner acceptance | PostNord or sender | The transfer needs operational confirmation |
| Customs documents or payment | Official national PostNord/customs route plus sender where needed | Market and declaration responsibilities differ |
| Service point not ready | PostNord or named point after the readiness deadline | Point selection is not arrival |
| Locker will not open | National PostNord app or locker support | Access credentials are private |
| Address error | Sender, then PostNord if an official correction option exists | Sender often controls shipment data |
| Delivered but missing | National PostNord operation plus sender | Proof and commercial remedy are separate |
| Damage or missing contents | Sender plus PostNord evidence route | Seller and transport responsibilities can both apply |
| Formal compensation | Sender, freight payer, or account holder | Contractual standing controls |
| Refund or replacement | Merchant or marketplace | PostNord does not control the sales contract |
| Return status | Merchant | Return movement does not prove refund |
Using 11Tracking and USTracking
11Tracking can display supported public PostNord events for one supported shipment at a time.
It can help you:
- distinguish electronic information from physical receipt;
- preserve the exact event;
- identify a service-point, customs, partner, delivery, return, or loss branch;
- determine which national PostNord operation is relevant;
- route the next action.
USTracking can help organise supported tracking records and observe later public updates.
Neither service can:
- create a PostNord scan;
- access private app data;
- use BankID or MitID;
- provide or recover a pickup code;
- open a parcel locker;
- change the delivery;
- contact a driver or service point;
- clear customs;
- retrieve restricted proof;
- file a claim;
- issue a refund;
- guarantee delivery.

Add packages from different carriers to USTracking, return to active shipments faster and get plain-language help with unfamiliar tracking events.
Frequently asked questions
What is a PostNord shipment ID?
It is the public carrier identifier used to retrieve a shipment record. The exact format varies by product and route.
Does PostNord have one tracking-number format?
No exhaustive universal format is confirmed for every PostNord shipment type. Use the complete number supplied by the sender.
Can I track with my order number?
Usually not. Ask the merchant for the PostNord shipment ID.
What does INFORMED mean?
It usually means PostNord received shipment information, not necessarily the physical item.
Which event confirms PostNord has the parcel?
An event stating that the item or shipment was received by PostNord is stronger physical-possession evidence.
What does EN_ROUTE mean?
It is a broad movement category. Read the exact event to determine whether the parcel was received, transported, at a terminal, in customs, or handed to a partner.
What does “handed over to a partner” mean?
It confirms a partner-transfer event. Check the partner's own tracker for an accepted or received scan before assuming item-level possession.
Does “will be delivered today” guarantee delivery?
No. It records a delivery plan or route stage, not completed delivery.
Does “delivered to a service point” mean I collected it?
No. It means the parcel reached the pickup location and is available under the applicable notification workflow.
How long will PostNord hold my parcel?
The answer depends on country, point type, locker, product, and date. Follow the exact final collection date in the app or notification.
Does PostNord always try delivery twice?
No. Some exact events or products include another attempt, while others redirect to a service point, locker, or return process.
Can someone else collect my parcel?
Sometimes. Sweden can use shared digital notifications, Denmark can allow eligible QR-code delegation, and other markets have their own ID or authorisation rules. Follow the exact notification.
Do I need ID?
It depends on country, product, and pickup workflow. A code, app, BankID, MitID-verified function, PIN, or physical ID can apply.
Can I use the pickup code for tracking?
No. It is a protected collection credential.
Why does the website find my parcel but the app does not?
App auto-discovery can fail when sender-supplied phone or email data does not match your app account. Add the shipment ID manually.
Is PostNord Denmark closed?
No. PostNord ended Danish letter handling but continues parcel and logistics operations.
Is PostNord Norway the same as Posten or Bring?
No. They are separate operators.
Is PostNord Finland the same as Posti?
No. They are separate operators.
Does PostNord clear customs?
It depends on the market and route. Denmark can use PostNord customs representation in applicable workflows, while current Finland guidance says PostNord does not perform import clearance there.
Why does a Norwegian parcel show customs or transit through Sweden?
A domestic Norwegian route can cross EU territory and require transit data. That does not automatically mean import duties are owed.
What does DELIVERED prove?
It proves a completed PostNord outcome was recorded. The exact event may identify mailbox, door, power of attorney, or another method.
Can I get proof of delivery?
Proof availability depends on market, product, delivery method, and contractual access. The sender or account holder may have stronger access than the recipient.
Who files the claim?
The sender, merchant, freight payer, or account holder often owns the formal claim. The recipient should preserve evidence and report the problem promptly.
Does a return status mean I will be refunded?
No. The merchant still needs to receive and process the return.
Can 11Tracking open a PostNord locker or change delivery?
No. Use the official PostNord app or national site for eligible private actions.

Sources, scope, and review
This page was researched from current official PostNord group reporting, national tracking surfaces, tracking API documentation, PostNord event taxonomy, app materials, national recipient and parcel-locker guidance, customs pages, terms, claim instructions, and fraud warnings accessed on July 28, 2026.
It covers group-wide PostNord tracking and recipient workflows in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. It does not define every letter, parcel, pallet, freight, return, customs, remote-area, business-contract, compensation, insurance, or partner service.
PostNord pickup codes, lockers, holding periods, identity rules, app functions, customs roles, delivery estimates, proof, attempts, and claim routes vary by country, product, date, and shipment. Sweden has also announced a locker-retention change intended for September 2026; the live app and notification should control.
The page does not diagnose a live parcel, collect private pickup credentials, authenticate BankID or MitID, open a locker, contact a driver, clear customs, retrieve restricted proof, file a claim, issue a refund, or guarantee delivery.
